Great film: looks beautiful, but where are the extras?
Although there are some parts which may be scary (Lampwick's transformation; the whale) this is a firm favourite with my nearly-three year old. The songs are great, the animation, Disney's first foray into multiplane, is fantastic, and the central character is believable and flawed in a way that many children's books since have tried to avoid. The Bly-Ray is great but some of the extra features listed on the cover are not present on the Bly-Ray. I may have only watched them once but I don't like advertising something that's not there. Pinocchio is a classic movie for a very good reason.

pinocchio bluray - phillips not all extras
Beautiful classic disney movie, see all the reviews. Glad i bought it here. We had the video for the kids, but now i wanted the bluray for myself:) Unfortunately, with my Philips Blu-ray Disc player BDP7300 i cannot watch all the extra's. no deleted scenes, no making of. There is no current driver update available (last one 2010) The philips is a good player, so, let's hope for an upgrade.

What's not to like (I'll come back to that)
What's not to like (I'll come back to that), a lot of subtle adult humour, by far the most confident Disney animation ever made. And so what is not to like? well the Disney view thing and slotting a 4:3 image onto a 16:9 plate. It's a 4:3 film it doesn't need to be wedged into a 16:9 plate. Please release it sensibly on Blu-ray in 4:3 and none of that Disney view piffle- side boarders to fill out the unnecessary black spaces (if it had been properly 4:3) doesn't add anything to the film. It's a brilliant movie that doesn't need any more.

I am truly happy to receive this up dated version of an all time Disney Classic. I have the complete collection of Disney Animated, and as one is updated I plan on adding it to my collection. Pinocchio just brings back some of the most happy days of growing up. The story line, charters, and songs just make it a must buy. Disney certainly had an very different way in Animation that is above any of those that might attempt.

Un classico che fa piacere vedere sia ai bambini che ai genitori magari in loro compagnia per una serata all'insegna della famiglia

Lorsque le français est absent dans la partie son, il serait normal que ça puisse se savoir: Ce srait plus correct.

Imagine my enthusiasm when I was about to play this beloved classic movie for y 3y.o. Son and his little friend, over for a play date and settled in for a movie time after exhausting every toy and game in the house. Finally, they could sit back and be treated to a story full of wonder and be amazed at the lifelike characters, not to mention learn a basic and enduring life lesson in the bargain. Not to mention that my wife and I were also looking forward to revisiting this magical story ourselves alongside our son and his friend. We popped in the disc and sat back to enjoy the show... Ad then... "THIS DISC CANNOT BE PLAYED ON YOUR PLAYER" We tried it on our other, newer Blu-Ray player and got the same message. After scrambling to deal with the extreme disappointment from our two little audience members, I looked at the case for this movie -- sure enough it states this is the UK edition. I know and accept there are different regions (still!) for electronic formats, which is fine. My beef is with Amazon, for not CLEARLY STATING THIS IS THE U.K. VERSION...ESPECIALLY AT $63.42 PRICE POINT!!! If they had stated that, they wouldn't have wasted my time and spared two impressionable little boys the disappointment of high expectations dashed. In this case, it's Amazon whose "nose" is growing longer and longer....!!

It is what it is. Pinocchio is one of Walt Disney's true classics and inspired by the great man himself. It is a timeless tale and far surpasses some of the tripe coming out of the studios today, come on, Wreck It Ralph? The Blue Ray version of Pinocchio is fantastic and inspiring.
