Better than the OEM I replaced!

I do IT for a living and have extensive experience installing hardware on laptops. Latitude 7390 here and everything works except the keyboard backlight. I saw the note from the vendor about wiping down the ends of the ribbon cables and I did that even though I shouldn't have to and the backlight is not detected by the OS but the keyboard I replaced had a working backlight. Other than that the keyboard works just fine. I'm not going to return this keyboard for a replacement because the keyboard swap is about a two-hour job on this Latitude - not worth my time. Still, it's a fairly nice keyboard even with the broken backlight :)

It was only after spending an hour installing this that I noticed that some of the keys (' to =, E, []\;') didn't show a back light. On closer inspection, I noticed those keycaps were grey, rather than black, and lacked blue highlights. What I suspect happened is that this keyboard is surplus stock from some country where the above keys don't match the US layout. The vendor replaced those keys with knock-offs to sell to the US. Not the end of the world: I just swapped the keycaps from my original keyboard. Now I have a functional keyboard that is better than the rather flaky original. The photo shows my original (donor) keyboard with the dodgy keycaps installed. P.S. Watch some videos on removing caps before doing the swap: you don't want to break the clips.

This is a replacement keyboard, and it works at some level, so I give it that. I used this on a Latitude 7280. The fit isn't great. The keyboard itself has keys that are slightly different shaped from the holes in the top case, and some of the keys bind slightly on the edges of the top case, making you miss letters or making a slight twanging noise. The flat flex cables are too long to fit properly in the 7280, but too short to tuck anywhere. The translucency of the keys is absolutely terrible, and the backlight shines through the gaps in the keys more than the keys themselves. It's extremely harsh and glaring. The feel of typing (binding nonwithstanding) is "hollow" and "rattly" and isn't great. I wouldn't be able to use this keyboard as a primary method of input on a day to day computer. This replaced a liquid damaged keyboard, so it's better than that, but not by much at all. Would not recommend. Two stars because it does fit and technically works, but isn't great.

Replaced a keyboard on my Dell laptop and this works great. The price was nice and no issues at all. I like the backlight and it works well. So far, so good!

Have given 3 stars as the keyboard works standard except couple of keys are little hard and few of the LED lights are brighter and few are dimmer. Purpose solved for a lod laptop.

Keyboard as described. Works great. Looks exactly the same as the original one.
