It was only effective on the spots that I removed the dead grass from though. Cannot use it on top of dead grass, has to be fresh ground. But took the bare spot in my front lawn to 90% filled in 2-3 weeks. Taking my review from 1 to 5! Maybe the ants helped after all... Review: I couldn't really tell if there was any seed in the mix... I put it in 3 spots in my yard and nothing has germinated, its been two weeks and nothing but weeds are growing where I spread it, no new sprouts at all. You do have to keep it watered regularly (hard to remember sometimes), but even in spots where I have not got grass to grow for several years, I NOW HAVE GRASS! A little expensive, but it does work. I did have to reapply in some areas.
