Vileda Extra X-Legs Indoor Airer

I’ve been using this airer for a while now and it’s been really practical. It holds a decent amount of laundry—up to two loads—and the thick wires help avoid those annoying crease marks on clothes. The X-leg design feels stable even when it’s fully loaded, and the little wheels make it easy to move around without dragging or tipping.It folds down neatly when not in use, which is great if you’re short on space. Only reason I’m giving it four stars is that it can feel a bit bulky when folded, but that’s a minor thing considering how sturdy and useful it is. Definitely one of the better indoor airers I’ve tried.

We may not use this product in the way that the manufacturer intended, but it is perfect for our requirements. We live in a valley here in North Devon, and for most of the year washing will not dry out doors, although it always goes out during the summer, weather permitting. We have a lot of washing, far more than a normal household, so efficient drying is a great need. We chose to use a good quality de-humidifier, rather than a tumble dryer. Enter the Velida X-Legs Indoor Airer. For years we have used a cheap copy, which on the whole worked quite well, but was most certainly flimsy. After a few mishaps it became obvious that we had to get something stronger and more safe. We found this Velida Airer on Amazon, of course, and based upon the design, which was very similar to the old one, we went for it. WE are delighted with the Velida X-Legs Indoor Airer. It fits the top of the work bench perfectly (once I removed the wheels and plastic feet, which came off easily). We even found that it holds almost as much washing as the old one but far more securely. Folding up and down can be a little tricky, especially for an old doddery like me, but I still have ten fingers even after several attempts by the Velida dryer to chop them off! I have made one modification to the dryer (apart from removing it's feet). If you look at the third photo you will see clearly the two black clips that go over the joint in the legs that makes the thing foldable. Well Velida (as with the cheap airer manufacturer) only supply one of these clips - why? Goodness knows, since these clips must cost them next to nothing, and when used as a pair make the whole airer that much more stable, and safe, in use. Velida, if you read these reviews please take note! And - it makes no difference whether the airer is used on the floor as intended or up in the air, as not intended - the extra clip is essential for stability!!! Anyway - having said all this - this airer is an excellent product and to be highly recommended. In our experience well worth the extra cost over the cheaper versions that are not made by Velida.

Never thought I'd be so happy about doing laundry but that day has finally come!!! I have a tumble dryer and I've been using it for 3 years but this year it was so hot that I just couldn't afford making it even hotter in the room so I looked for alternatives as I have a big balcony and it never occured to me that I can actually line dry my clothing outside. When looking for air drying racks I was torn between this Vileda one and the tall one with hangers but I am sooo happy that I have bought this one as it seems pretty sturdy and takes on a big load of clothing! My tumble dryer was actually getting rid of the detergent smell that I was using, my clothes always smelt of hot nothingness once dry but not anymore. Now when I hang my clothes outside the smell is so strong until they dry and then the smell gets subtle until you wear them. Not to mention how therapeutic it is for me when I take those couple of minutes to hang my clothing I get a lot of thinking done which feels really nice. The dryer is as tall as it should be and clothes take a couple of hours to air dry. Then no more procrastinating as before. I am guilty to say that with the tumble dryer I'd sometimes leave my laundry in there for a week! But not anymore as I bring some hangers and my laundry basket on the balcony and my clothes get folded or hanged and then stored away nicely in the dresser to make room for another load of clothing! I love the little installment for socks, very cute and quite handy. So far, no socks have escaped, even the thinnest pair. The price of this rack is also quite good too (got it for £25 but it's worth every penny)! It terms or wear, we shall see for how long this item lasts but so far so good. My previous one was like a tower dryer that was a lot more awkward and worse at drying because clothes overlapped a lot. Happy to report that this dryer is fantastic and fits all our washing very comfortably. That said, we're only 2 so you could probably fit enough for 3 people on a weekly wash depending on whether you use the washing machine drying function for any other pieces like we do (towels/under garments).Only bit of nit pick that I have is that it arrived a bit out of shape so had to straighten it out a bit myself. Seems that the packaging is not quite enough to keep it from being damaged in transit.Would I buy it again? Yes. It's a lot sturdier than cheap ones and the wheels on one of the legs help move it around a bit if needed.

I've been using this type of airer for about 40 years since living in Germany and only having a balcony. It saves a lot of space and is real handy as if it rains you just pick up and move it indoors. All my previous ones have had the wires come off as they are spot welded to the frame, sometimes not so well. This is different - it has aluminium tubes that pass through the frame and are then splayed out so no poor weld to fail, and no rusting either. I'm hoping this will last more than twice the other type thus making it actually cheaper in the long term. Seems to be really well thought out and constructed.

We love this contraption! When it's unfolded it'll take a 7-8kg load easy, which makes drying all of the kids' stuff a doddle. Folds down nice and flat when not in use and seems sturdy when out. The little sock holder on the side is also welcome for not losing a 1 year old's tiny items!With the washing machine seemingly on 24 7 in our house, this is a welcome addition and is sturdy and well priced.

This arrived today. Super fast delivery (next day), which is much appreciated. Very sturdy and has a lot of space to hang a lot of clothes. It’s quite large, so takes up a teeny bit more space, but not too much. Appreciate the little extra feature with the small top lock, snapping the top folding arms together and the little sock holder on the side.Bottom line, very happy with the product and would most definitely recommend it.

Article léger, maniable, bien pensé.Les barres sont un peu trop grosses pour des pinces à linges classiques mais parfaites utilisées sans pinces à linges car ces barres marquent peu le linge.J'ai trouvé décevant de recevoir cet article neuf avec une barre tordue.

Muy buen producto, estable y resistente, mucho más alto que un tendedero normal, lo cual se agradece. Las varillas gruesas permiten que la ropa se seque más rápidamente y el soporte para colgar ropa pequeña es útil pero quizás podían poner uno que llenara toda la barra lateral.ENTREGA: el producto muy bien, la entrega lamentable. Nunca compréis nada que se envíe por Tourline Express, sólo hace falta mirar comentarios online para ver que es la peor empresa de mensajería que exista. No hacen caso a las indicaciones de entrega especificadas, no pasan pero dicen haber pasado, no llaman y no dejan notas... y al final tienes que ir a buscar tu paquete tú mismo a la otra punta de la ciudad...su lema es "como si lo llevaras tú mismo", puedo asegurar que no puede ser más cierto! (reclamación presentada a Amazon que como siempre contestan enseguida con su servicio excelente, me ha confirmado que se pensará si seguir trabajando con esta empresa).

Premetto che lo usiamo già da qualche mese ma si percepiva fin dall'apertura del pacco l'ottima fattura... Nulla a che vedere con le cosiddette "cinesate" da 10€ (poi magari anche questo è fatto in Cina, ma è progettato molto bene).E' leggero grazie all'uso dell'alluminio ma allo stesso tempo risulta robusto e già questo è indice di buona progettazione. La struttura generale quindi è superiore alla maggior parte degli "stendini" comuni.Le aste per stendere sono molto solide e spesse, non quei filamenti esili che sembrano potersi spezzare da un momento all'altro sotto il peso di un copri piumino umido.Le operazioni di apertura/chiusura sono veloci, così come gli spostamenti, grazie alle due piccole rotelline che entrano in azione solo quando si solleva lo stendibiancheria da un lato, altrimenti resta piuttosto stabile.Le parti in plastica sono di buona fattura e anche utili: come l'accessorio per stendere calze e calzini che ho trovato comodissimo e il sistema di blocco che si utilizza per chiudere lo stendibiancheria quando lo si vuole riporre. C'è anche l'ulteriore blocco per evitare la chiusura involontaria su se stesso (ma non abbiamo mai dovuto usarlo).Insomma, il prodotto in se è ottimo e vale tutta la spesa.Da valutare ancora la longevità sul lungo termine. In caso di problemi non mancherò di aggiornare questa recensione.Spero di essere stato utile.
