I recently developed psoriasis on my scalp, and my doctor recommended using a medicated shampoo to control it. I tried several brands, but, even though they addressed the (ahem) root problem, they left my hair feeling dried out. Neutrogena Scalp Therapy is a rarity in that it attacks scalp plaque build up while leaving my hair feeling and looking as though I used a regular shampoo. Now that I’m past that original outbreak, I use the shampoo as a maintenance therapy three or so times a week. I love that Neutrogena has paid attention not only to including a decent strength of salicylic acid but also to making sure my hair looks great.

I usually use dandruff shampoo a few times a week, but recently dry winter and hot showers really kicked my dandruff problem into the next echelon and my previous shampoo wasn't cutting it. I have used this for two weeks and it has helped quite a lot. No more snow on my shoulders. The product is a clear gel and looks a bit like face wash more so than shampoo. I think that consistency does help it go on the scalp instead of lather up on my hair. I knocked off one star because I feel like it doesn't help with the itchy problem quite as well as some other shampoos I've used. Maybe it is because this product doesn't have any minty cooling feeling like some dandruff shampoo, which I kind of like if my head is feeling itchy.

Nice smelling, not medicinal, ingredients just what I need to manage my itchy scalp that produces too much sebum. This shampoo will work like a gentle clarifying formula based on the contents.

I waa disappointed. I ordered for itchy scalp and after using three different times, I don't see an improvement. I don't have flaking, so don't know if it works with that.
