I used this one to paint a pair of light tan ankle boots (leather) which had scratches at the front and sides. I was worried I will ruin them but it was easier than expected. I did not do anything specific to prep, other than making sure the surface is reasonably clean. I used the helpful little brush attached on the lid to go around the edges in more detail and then I used a little sponge (a scourer cut into half will work fine). When I first applied the colour looked a bit brighter and uneven but the sponge spreaded it and smoothed it and the redults were good. I used less than half a bottle for the pair of shoes, and sponged dye all over them twice allowing few minutes in between. It will not repair the shoes' deep scratches obviously, but the scratches are covered well and I did the job without drama and stains. Shoes look lovely, colour is a true tan colour, which made my shoes a little bit darker, and nicer. Review: Colour too dark - I think the product is good and would of worked well on my leather sofa if the colour had been right. The colour English Tan is far too dark, more like dark brown than tan. A 1oz bottle in a single base coat can cover a good amount of surface area, however it may wear off in time. Applying multiple coats as well as using an acrylic finisher can help extend the durability of the paint. The best bet is to try out 1 bottle on your project and see if it is enough.
