It works pretty well. The only drawback is that I must turn off my main detector or move it far away, as the pinpointer picks up the signal from the detector. Bu otherwise I am pleased with it.

This pinpointer works well. It is able to pinpoint objects directly that my metal detector detects. The features such as vibration and noise are helpful and so is the built in light when detecting at night. It does sometimes go a little haywire and start beeping and vibrating nonstop. But the issue is fixed easily by just restarting the device. I would say it is perfect for any beginner looking to start out but someone with more experience may want to find something a little more high tech.

Works extremely well. I bought this to help find the metal base pegs on our youth baseball fields where the bases slide into. This is usually a 5 minute process on some fields as they often get covered with dirt. We had the old style arm length metal detectors but they sucked. This thing is amazing, super accurate and precise, and finds the pegs in 30 seconds of waving. Best part is I can carry it in my baseball bucket organizer. Would definitely buy again.

This detector worked great for locating property corner markers buried 3 inches underground. Battery life is very good.

I waited for a few trips out detecting before giving my impression of this device. If you put most of your money into a new Metal Detector like me (which you should!)... this is a workable temporary pinpointer in this price group. But as soon as you can, save up $100-$150 and get a great one (I purchased the Notka AccuPoint - it is fantastic)!!! This one has many more bells and whistles than the others in this price range but it fails on a couple of important levels... It doesn't handle wet and moderately mineralized soil at all. I went out in my yard, several hours after a rain, and I thought my pointer had broken. It went off no matter where I touched it. I brought out my wife's pointer too and it went crazy too. Anywhere in the yard that I touched either pointer to the ground... they went crazy! On dry soil, they worked fantastic. But on damp soil, it is useless. Secondly, it reacted with my detector, if it was on at the same time. I set the detector about 3 feet away, and facing further away... but they both would chatter. I adjusted my detector's frequency and got a workable solution, but I still find it works better just to turn my detector off. This is an okay pinpointer in a pinch... but don't stay in that pinch very long!

Just started using not long ago. Haven’t found anything too valuable real treasures yet, but finding small things as I learn. It has been fun and it is good quality.

Mostly this has been a great pinpointer, contrary to what others have said: 1. It does beep faster as you get closer to the metal 2. You can change between beep with vibration and just vibration 3. It is now waterproof So the issue... As others have also reported, it randomly will decide to just keep beeping as soon as you turn it on. You can still just about use it because it will beep even faster when close to an object, but you loose that first level of detection because usually that first beep tells you that you are near. For the life of me I cannot figure out what causes it. Tried new batteries, removed the circuit board to check for loose wires, tried holding down the power button in case it resets the ground balance, but nothing. And then magically it will just work normally again. It's a shame because now I don't feel I can trust it to be ready when I need it and will be looking for a new one. I would love to recommend it, but as I'm not the only person reporting this issue its clearly a common fault. UPDATE: I just couldn't let it go, my engineer brain wasn't happy.... the issue is a tuning issue and can be remedied it seems. To 'fix' the issue take a small metal object and hold it near the LED before you turn it on (you might need to experiment with the position), it should now turn on and be silent. At that moment in time it is tuned WITH the metal object there and removing the object will give you a pinpointer with very low sensitivity (less than a inch!). If you now turn it off, remove the metal object and turn it back on, it should be back to normal. Failing that you can permanently keep a metal object in that location, ideally slightly adjustable in position. Waterproofing: This is an update (July 2021), the latest model now has fixed the waterproofing issues. Previously the LED was pushed against a hole in the body of the pointer. That hole now has a waterproof resin seal over it. They have also upgraded the rubber seal on the lid. Final words: When it works and stays working, it really does have great sensitivity. The light is so useful that I can use this perfectly well in the dark as my only light source when looking for the find. If you happen to find yourself owning one of these then you will not be disappointed if you know how to keep it operating correctly. July 2021: I now have the latest model. So far it is working perfectly. If it develops the beep issue again i will let you know, but this latest model is upgraded and better than the last one.
