I cannot find a pound sign. I have fiddled around as per the previous reviewer but it's not coming up. Can anyone please help?

what i did was go to settings and change the keyboard type to European keyboard, then £ should be Shift + 3

Yes. Bought one for use with an iMac. works just fine.

Before i return the keyboard as i think it is damaged. could you tell me how to use the @ function button on the number 2 key. i have tried everything

I had the same problem with other wired keyboards for my imac. Does this keyboard display @ nest to the enter button ? Otherwise no point buying.

where is the cmd button? Does it cause problems that the Alt button is different to that of a legit Mac keyboard?

Some keys are different like the $ instead of the £. Alt key should be ok. Not sure about cmd button.
