I just wanted something that was small for my little pool deck. This was perfect. Keep in mind it is smaller than a typical bathroom trash can, which is why I chose it. Think "a gallon of milk will set perfectly in there" and you will have the size pretty closely figured out. I put a small bungie cord around it attached to the deck fence to keep it from blowing around. The lid stays closed well. It is well made and the step to open works well. And it's even kind of cute.
