Product Description Jo Harding (Helen Hunt) leads a team of scientists who are set to launch a contraption that can retrieve information from the eye of tornadoes. Unable to resist the call of the wind, Bill rejoins his team in a dangerous chase after the mother of all tornadoes: the F5. desertcart.co.uk Review Twister was a mega-million-dollar blockbuster--helmed by a director (Dutchman Jan de Bont) hot off another scorcher hit (Speed)--that flaunted state-of-the-art digital effects and featured a popular leading actress (Helen Hunt) who would win an Academy Award for her next film (As Good As It Gets). But ask anybody who's seen it and they'll tell you who the real star of Twister is: the cow. Not to give anything away, but the cow is one of those inspired little touches (like, say, Bronson Pinchot's career-making cameo in Beverly Hills Cop) that adds a touch of personality to a gigantic Hollywood production. The story is blown out the window after an impressive prologue in which Hunt's character, as a little girl, witnesses her daddy being sucked into a tornado. Basically, Hunt and Bill Paxton are thrill-seeking meteorologists chasing twisters in order to study them (and help warn people of them, of course) with a new technology they've developed. If you thought the Kansas tornado in The Wizard of Oz was every bit as scary as the Wicked Witch of the West, then this may be the movie for you. --Jim Emerson Review: Another great film from the 1990s - Another disaster movie in a decade where there were many disaster movies, I first watched it in the cinema and said I would buy it when it came out on VHS video, I never did, but almost 20 years later I see it for sale on desertcart and just had to buy it! Review: Uncut Twister - I have been after a full version of this for a while, they cut it too much on TV showings. It's a very well produced film, not full of A-list actors all vy-ing for the camera time. A lot of the effects are well produced and very believable, the sub plot about the divorce doesnt stifle the main plot which is about Dorothy. The CGI isnt over the top like in some action films (Ice Palace scene in James Bond stopped me even wanting to see any since). Good family entertainment and a pleasant script overall

Another great film from the 1990s
Another disaster movie in a decade where there were many disaster movies, I first watched it in the cinema and said I would buy it when it came out on VHS video, I never did, but almost 20 years later I see it for sale on Amazon and just had to buy it!

Uncut Twister
I have been after a full version of this for a while, they cut it too much on TV showings. It's a very well produced film, not full of A-list actors all vy-ing for the camera time. Light disaster fun movie
* Synopsis An academic group of weather and tornado researchers and scientists are in the U.S.A. chasing tornadoes. This is to collect data and to help comprehend how they work for better public safety. Prof. (Helen Hunt) was married to her former researcher colleague in the same scientific inquiry. He is visiting this group to finalise the required signature on legal divorce papers. He learns that his concept is to use sensors to collect real data from inside the tornado and help comprehend these phenomena in a better way. His other former colleague has copied his idea for his own and is irritating. There is a dense selection of powerful tornadoes coming up, and so they rush to these. In the rush, the papers are not signed and so he tails along for fun and for the signature. * Commentary The computer's special effects are great. The social structure is a bit on the lean side. In the cinema, the sound is great coming from all angles. I enjoyed this movie as a good fun movie.

Excellent !
Watched it a long time ago on TV but recently my 6 year old daughter wanted to know what the inside of a tornado looked like. So I checked the internet to see pictures but they never really show how powerful they really are. I then remembered this film and it was perfect. Although not real, it gave my daughter a feel for the excitement the storm chasers feel and the damage, devastation and power the tornado has and she thought it was fantastic. My husband and I also had forgotten how good this film was and enjoyed every minute !

Logradísima pelicula en cuanto a efectos especiales y una de las cuales todo el mundo se reía porque se veía inverosímil que lo que se plasmaba en la película sucediera en la realidad,pero,por desgracia ha sucedido y todavía muchísimo peor,por lo tanto yo la recomiendo al igal que otras de su género para que veamos en lo que todos/as estamos convirtiendo nuestro planeta por nuestra falta de educació y nuestra inconsciencia.
