We purchased for a friend of ours for Xmas, he's a total diving enthusiast and had every bit of dive kit and accessories going so we just thought this would be a nice read for him. He read it in one day and the following day was making enquries with the travel agent to visit some of the places in this book! Glad we have been of help in helping him to spend his money!!

In my humble opinion it is missing a few of the best dive sites out (SS Yongala for one example). But it has great pictures and a little about each place. Really makes you want to go to these places. Plus it makes a great coffee table book. Easy to dip in and out of.

This is a Christmas present for my stepdaughters partner. He loves diving and has been to Egypt twice recently to dive in the Red Sea. When I was younger I had the opportunity to go diving in the Red Sea with a work mate and others, but for some reason I declined, possibly as I was working in Jeddah and not a country I felt safe in to be honest, particularly if anything may have gone wrong. We know he will like this book as it introduces other areas around the world to go diving, which is why I have rated it with five stars.

I am 56 years old and I went scuba diving for the first time recently. Locations then naturally pop into this muddled head and this book helps to give some ideas. Biggest problem is that it is very generalised and I suspect done from a point of view that money is no object. It is based on the abilities of a very experienced diver. I say this because masses of information are based on in what appears to be very open and quite deep water. The realm of experience. That said, there are some very nice photographs and it is nice to have the dream that maybe someday I can do that. The book also lacks detail about locations. It is an older book so what information there is, is very probably out of date.

I bought this as a gift for someone who is learning to dive this year. Of course I had to have a look myself and thinking about which sites I'd like to dive myself.

I bought this for my husband. My daughter liked it so much she bought it for her boyfriend who was a new diver it’s a good guide and I especially like that it indicates the level of experience needed for the dives.

「FIFTY?PLACES〜」シリーズのスキューバダイビング編（英文）。 サブタイトルにあるとおり、海洋生物学者や水中プロカメラマン、地元ダイビングガイド、ダイビングメーカ社長など錚々たる方々による推薦されたダイビングガイドブックです。 編集者がコメントを書くのではなく、それぞれのエキスパートが自分の言葉で推薦しているため、説得力があり真実味があります。 50ヶ所が紹介されており私自身、全く知らないダイブサイトも紹介されていて大変有益な情報源となります。 ただ、米国の出版物のため、沖縄、小笠原が紹介されていないのが残念至極。 写真派から地形、沈船、大物狙いなど特長をしっかり伝えているので行きたい地域をチョイスしやすいです。 これを使ってダイビングの行き先を決めるも善、目的地の情報を得るも善、50ヶ所を踏破するも善、と使い方はいろいろ。 もちろん、お金に余裕があれば、踏破してみたい、です。
