Castell 9000 Art Set Pencil (Pack of 6), Green

Good pencils that literally do what it says on the tin. I have found them very good for sketching.

I’m my personal opinion these pencils are the best and wouldn’t change that.

Good quality pencil set. This is exactly as shown in the listing photos. I find this a really useful range of leads, I don't tend to sketch using anything harder than hb. I'd class these as the upper my d range, the very good quality pencils are considerably more expensive, and these do the job for me. They're worth the extra cost because they're not scratchy like many cheap pencils. They're comfortable to hold, and so far sharpen well. Easy to use, and give a clear line. I like that they arrived with a long sharp point. Very happy and would buy again. Thanks for reading, I hope you find this review helpful.

Realy great pencils, a big pricey but worth it

I’ve used Faber Cattell water-soluble pencils for some time and I absolutely love them. The company also makes pencils with a very slight tint (blue, green and maybe others). These are called “Green” so not unreasonably I thought they were tinted. It turns out they’re normal graphite and Green seems to refer to a type (rather than colour) of pencil. They come in a green tin. On checking I see that my other FB pencils are in a green tin, so I didn’t get what I wanted. However, they’re an excellent pencil and I shall carry on using them, but I’m still looking for a green tint………

Bought as a present so did want to make sure they were a good quality so spent a bit more on these. The report back is they are great for sketching and better than those they had been using. Good and bad pencils, who knew ?

I recently bought this set of six pencils to add to my urban sketching kit and I am extremely pleased with my purchase. The pencils come in a very stylish matt green tin box and are clearly labelled from HB through to 8B. These pencils are ideal for sketching but, if you are looking for pencils for more technical work, I believe Faber Castell produce a similar set with a harder range of leads. I have used them quite a bit since I bought them and they produce a good range of values and so far I haven't had any problems with broken lead when sharpening etc. Hope you find this review helpful

I bought these pencils to do Sudoku. I go through a lot of books, so I buy the inexpensive ones. Unfortunately, the paper is poor quality. I have trouble writing dark enough to make the trial numbers show up enough that I can see to work with them. These pencils were a higher quality and grade and work better on the paper. They also came in a nice little metal box, which was a nice surprise.

It's lovely n v smooth on a hotpress paper.. but works equally well on cold press paper .
