Ok so you lose the active tracking feature but you gain the ability to add an external mic, the z-axis add-on and cheap SD card storage. Obviously this device is twice the price of the Osmo Mobile but if you want the features it's well worth it. The Osmo Mobile is great if you have a smartphone without optical image stabilisation (OIS). If you want the very best stable footage the the Osmo+ is hard to beat without going to a full steadycam rig. Add the z-axis attachment and the Osmo+ basically is a full steadycam rig! It's not perfect, but it's more than adequate for syncing purposes with your separate professional audio recording.
