Stearns Rearming Kit 38ARP (#0944)

Product arrived on time and in excellent condition. I am glad to have found the re-arming kit on Amazon as Bass Pro Shops, where I purchased the life vest, does not carry either the Stearns Vests or the Rearming Kits. I had my vest pop the CO2 cylinder and needed a kit so as to be able to continue using my vest in fishing tournaments.

Easy to install (once I went on YouTube and found the appropriate video).

This recharge kit fit my near 10 year old sospenders perfectly. I think the recommendation is to change the pellet every three years. Those are cheaper than having to replace an expanded CO2 cartridge because the pellet disintegrated allowing the actuation of the cartridge while in storage. Keep your SOSpenders in a cool dry place when not in use. I wear my SOSpenders full time when on the lake.

I've had a Sospenders auto inflatable life preserver for years, maybe a decade. I wear it a lot when it's cold and I'm fishing by myself, but I don't get it out of the dry bag when it's summer, unless I'm on an unknown body of water.It inflated in my dry bag and I'm headed to the upper Mississippi and I got this to rearm it. It was easy, once I figured out what my product number was. If you can read, you can rearm you life jacket.I didn't give it 5 stars, because it's never had to inflate to save me. Honestly, I hope it never does.

Well packaged, easy to install

We have five SoSpenders inflatable PFDs model number 38APRO and ordered five rearming kits#0944 which state on the package that they fit the SoSpenders 38APRO PFD. The water sensitive bobbin in the kits does not fit the PFD and when we attempted to return the kits in the original packages to Amazon they would not accept them saying that they can not accept shipping of items that have gas in them. It is strange that they can ship to us items that have gas in it but we can not ship the same product in the original unopened package back to them. Now we are stuck with $120.00 worth of rearm kits that are of no use to us. Our recomendation is DO NOT USE AMAZON as they are a company that does not admit it has a miss labled or improperly packaged product.

This is a direct replacement kit for a Stearns pfd. One should note that this is not mpt but is sae.

Fortunately I've never had to inflate My SoSpenders in an emergency.The water activated cartridge will degrade all by itself over time, and especially if stored in high humidity or wet boat compartments.Really, it will.I never remember to replace mine annually as suggested by the manufacturer. Every few years I open a hatch and am greeted by a fully inflated PFD.
