Can I use this for floors?

They are barely able to pick up lint from clothes I doubt they would do well with floors. Plus the rolls are very thin (about 10 layers per roll). I doubt you could finish a room with one or even the entire pack.

Does this roller have a protective cover for when not in use?

Nothing extra. We use the cover it comes in.

What size (length) is the actual roll?

The roll itself is exactly 10cms or 4 ins.

How do you use the refills?

The refills are on a cardboard roll which simply slip over the plastic handle. Very easy to replace.
