Don't let any negative reviews put you off! Very Very Very solid!
I have a set of KRK Generation 3 Rokit 8's on these stands. I am very happy with their performance, build quality and all the height options and foot adjustments. They were very easy to assemble and have proven rock solid on my carpeted area with their spikes. I used to have my speakers on the isoacoustics as a way to lift them off my desk, but I ended up sending those back because of a defect. I am glad that I did because The OnStage can do so much more. They get your speakers off your desk (obviously) and that helps to mitigate any undesired extra resonance. It is like a night and day difference. I am not a fan of pseudo bass that comes from rattling. Before I go on too long, just go for these. Stop the comparison shopping, these are the ones you want that are solid, height adjustable so you can get them into the sweet spot and offer a very wide platform up top so even 8 inch speakers can fit easily.

Solid, but definitely not furniture
It was time to get rid of my homemade speaker stands. New monitors were coming, and the 30-pound heft of each monitor called for serious stands. These are up to it. The tripod base comes with both pads and spikes. A few minutes with a carpenter's level and they were nice and flat. The minimum extension is perhaps a little high for larger monitors, but it was just right for me. You could easily raise monitors so they could be heard from a standing position. There are a couple of cable guides that snap into holes in the tubing. They're too small to be of any value--you'll end up using cable ties like I have. The overall impression these give is solidity. Even on carpet, they're steady enough to make me feel a lot better about the security of the speakers. They're perhaps a little crude in appearance--not ugly, but showing their heritage as portable stage gear. If the visual presentation of your studio is important, you'll be looking for bespoke stands. If you just want to get heavy monitors in the right place, these will do it nicely.

Sturdy and good-looking stands
This item comes as a set - two monitor stands that are very simple to put together, but quite sturdy! I was impressed by the quality of this stand and very appreciative of the triangle-shaped base. It's engineered so that it's quite stable. I have a piece of equipment on it that's about 20 pounds, and there's no chance of it falling over or collapsing. There is a locking pin in addition to the adjustable screw, so again this is well put together and it will stay at the height that you want it. Worth the money!

Great Product for the price
I got these for under $100, and compared to my other stands, costing more, they are far better. Some of the reviews I have read contain valid points, but I don't think they are taking into consideration the price. These are very sturdy and stable. They work quite well with some surrounds I am using...but these are not your normal surround speakers. They are high quality monitors where my integrated-amplifier surround-sound calibration system deems it necessary only to send sound under 40Hz to my LFE.Some positives:1. These are way more stable than my other stands, and I feel comfortable placing my speakers directly on them with minimal setup.2. You can screw everything fairly tight, but still manage to twist the monitor-base a bit for some fine-tuned direction. Some negatives:1. The plastic feet people have talked about. They still work fine for my limitations, but if you remove them, small plastic pieces can enter the base and be difficult to remove. Also, if you were relying on these instead of the metal screw-spikes for precise levelling, you would probably have some issues. I am in fact using these with my carpet admittedly.2. The carpet-orientated spikes. Because the metal in the entire system is light (without sacrificing stability and sturdiness), the spikes don't dig in like some stands with a narrower base, narrower spikes, and a heavier center of gravity. I don't know how much testing is done on levelling carpet base-attachments in general for any stands. I did find it a bit odd that this is the dedicated carpet (and not hard floor) usage, because my front speakers use metal adjustable spikes as well, but come with associated metal disks that they fit into.Subjective points:1. The plastic turn handle seems perfectly fine to me. Whether or not this can scratch the pole is not that relevant in my situation.2. The 4" increments are acceptable for my needs, but admittedly, if someone needed the precision of a different gradation, this could be an issue. However, the pin system is very sturdy and easy, and there is a mini-pin base provided to rest it on.3. Minor. These do have a 'guitar-center' look to them.Untested:1. I am currently only setting the monitor-base up to 41", which is the second lowest setting. Some future possibilities:1. Add automatic level bubbles like a tripod.2. Add the ability to tilt the speakers at specified degrees.Summation:In the audiophile world, it isn't that easy to find sturdy stands that are adjustable. These work great for a price that some may question if it is missing a digit. They also come with an acoustically safe pad well engineered into the monitor baseplate, so no earthquake putty or blu-tack is necessary. The stand-base itself is quite large but it managed to fit into the same place as my smaller ones without compromising my speaker position. And, my monitors are fairly heavy at 5.6Kg each.

Exactly what I needed!
These stands a perfect. I have a ho,e studio and needed stands for my monitors for mixing. These have several different height adjustments settings and they came with different feet to accommodate for either carpet or hard surface. The platform for the monitor is very wide and could easily support any size monitor. Honestly I was a little concerned that these would feel cheap and flimsy since they are so inexpensive but, I was wrong. They are very durable and all of the connection points when assemblies tightened up nice and snug with no rattling or wobbling. Considering that in many places online cost well over a hundred dollars for monitor stands, these are a great purchase. I would buy them again (if I ever need to) and would certainly recommend them to a friend.
