best buy to date
very good robot luckily i didnt pay loads for an irobot because it works the same love it, works on medium lenght carpet, lets hope it lasts as long, my sister bought roomba 620 at the same time for double the price hers is bigger and more expensive looking material but mine is shorter so can go in smaller spaces, looks cheaper but very strong hit me on the foot so i know, dust compartment is smaller so i have to empty more often than her is not a good design pieces of dirt falls of as you take it out but everyone should have a robot hoover our one is called good boy and since he arrived we are happier family, single mother with twin boys, 3 year olds operate it empty it and clean their own mess :)

Great value
So far great for the money, you might find it a little rough as it does like to bump into things quite hard. Great coverage seems to pick up most stuff if used a couple of times a week. Gets into corners better than expected. Doesn't like rugs. Can knock stuff over, but just throw that stuff away. A bit like having a pet, only it cleans things. So not like a pet.

Good cleaner but a wee bit dumb.
I'm pleased with this little robot vacuum cleaner. It appears to be well built and picked up an enormous amount of dust and fluff that I had a missed mainly from under the beds and furniture which I usually can't be bothered to move. It is quiter than I expected and I tend to lock in a room, get on with something else and let it do its thing for 20 minutes or so - my rooms are small, no bigger than 4mx4m. It's not perfect though. As far as I can tell it has no built in modelling system of the area it has covered so it moves around randomly which means it may take forever to get to certain parts of the room. I haven't seen it hug a wall at all so the edges will need a proper vacuum but it does cover much of the main area. I tend to just pick up the odd speck it has missed from the main area and chuck it it front of the bot. I have not had to rescue it yet even when it has moved into areas not much wider than itself as after a little panic it seems to find it way out again. It cleaned my whole bungalow on a single charge, just, which I am impressed with as that included the conservatory which had quite a bit heavier dust and dirt in it. Make no mistake this is not for heavy duty cleaning but for picking up dust and fluff it has so far proved a cracking success. I imagine it would be great for dog and cat owners for staying on top of the hairs, at least those that fall to the floor. For the price is it great and the only reason I would consider a more expensive model is for more intelligence though I doubt any on the market would remove the need for a proper vacuum at least around the edges. Oh and it is enormous fun!

Battery doesn't last
I bought this robot 3months ago and fall in love straight away! Works very well, despite being quite erratic with changing directions. My cat is not bothered with it at all. It never fall down the stairs. Unfortunatelly I noticed after few uses the battery didn't hold its charge. It was able to work for shorter and shorter time and needed constant recharge. Now, after 3 months the charge lasts for about 15-20 minutes max, far cry from the promised 80-90 minutes! I will attempt to return it now, very disappointed. I think the idea of cleaning robot is excellent so I'm going to find more reliable model.

Acceptable given the price
I wavered between 3 and 4 stars for this review. I also have had a couple of roomba robots so I'm able to compare it with them. There are a lot of good things about this robotic vacuum. First of all, the price! Secondly, it will do a good job of cleaning the carpets (unless it's got stripes). However, it doesn't have a program to follow the skirting boards of your room, so you might find that it misses the edges. The carrying "handle" is really badly designed and it's difficult to carry. Finally, emptying and cleaning it is very finicky. Unlike the roomba, where you just pull out the rubbish bin, swing out the filter and empty the dust into a kitchen bin, for this device in addition to pulling off the rubbish bin, you also have open a whole series of panels, each of which will have some accumulated dust. Like the roomba, after a few uses you have to remove and clean the main brush and the beater bar. The supplied cleaning tool isn't very efficient for this, so instead I use one that I got for a roomba. Yet despite the downsides, I still rather like it. BTW, if your carpet has black stripes, as do all of mine, then for this device (and the roomba) you have to defeat the cliff sensors. Once you've done this, you can't use it on the top landing because there's nothing to stop it rolling down the stairs and possibly getting damaged. The cliff sensors work by shining an infra red light downwards and picking up the reflection from the carpet. If there's no reflection, it assumes it's about to fall off a cliff edge and backs up. However, if the carpet has black stripes, it mistakes the stripes for cliff edges and won't go over them! To defeat the sensors you have to arrange for some of the light to be permanently reflected back upwards so it always thinks there's carpet there. I was able to do this using just four drinking straws! It's a little more difficult with the roomba, needing tape and bits of paper.

Great value time saver.
Great item. Amazing the amount this picks up from hard floors. It does not get everywhere in the room, but what it misses it gets next time, I set him off every morning for 30 minutes as I take the kids to school and he's done by the time I get back. I have two dogs and two under 5's and my floors have never looked cleaner.

Robbie does the job in light cleaning areas
great little hover ideal for those with wooden type flooring, keeps the bedrooms nice and clean, and the important bit fits under all the bedroom furniture, used twice a week and it really does the job, but make sure no wires, cables or discarded clothes you missed... great
