Little Wigwam Alphabet Placemat Multicolour

I bought this for my daughter to ensure the move from high chair to child's table and chair went smoothly, and to offer an easily educational conversation opportunity while I juggled meal time with 2 children under 2 years of age. At snack and dessert time (usually fruit) I started by asking her to pick pictures to put fruit pieces on and we would talk about the colours/shapes etc of each picture as she ate each piece of fruit. Now we talk about letters instead and she recognises letters in story books (etc) and links them to the pictures on this place mat. This mat is heavily used and I am afraid I have not always been quick to wipe up weetabix spills, the end result being quite a number of scratches and places where the printing has been removed. While it looks very much loved, (eg very tired), she still loves it today as much as when it was brand new, and it affords learning opportunities. Her younger sibling is now taking an interest in this place mat...

Having a 2.5 year old who was probably ready to leave his highchair, we thought about the chaos he'd likely cause to our placemats, so were on the lookout for a larger-sized mat which woudl keep his interest. He absolutely loves it. Each mealtime we get treated to a rendition of the "ABC" song, and the bright and colourful pictures keep him interested as he asks us to spell the words for the pictures on the mat. From out perspective it's easy to wipe and was shipped flat - meaning it wasn't bent or curved when we opened it. It's made of thick plastic rather than a plastic topped foam, so it should last well. Good product for a fair price.

Love this placemat. Perfect for my pre-school aged son. Only downside is that it is hard to clean properly without scratching the design. Anything remotely rough (like a non-scratch dish sponge) will scratch it off which is a pain for something that needs to be regularly cleaned!

Bought this for my 4 year old as an aid to his alphabet studies in montessori. I found out he was unsure of Q which this helped resolve and shortly after, by putting this beside a piece if paper he wrote the entire alphabet. The real revelation was for my (just gone) three year old who's 16 months younger who learned all the letters in a flash, "A for apple, B for Bee..." and in hindsight I wish i'd bought it much sooner. Because of it's ample size there are always letters in his field of vision and provides an educational distraction when his mind wanders during meal time. The colours are bright and the pictures are excellent and fairly unmistakable. Wiping it down twice a day had dulled it only very slightly and it remains a very positive addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner.

got this for my 3 year old son. he loves it- it;s bright and colourful and the pictures appeal to him. he likes to spell out his name and find other people's names. it keeps him busy while waiting for food etc.. and all the time he's learning. can't ask for more than that! it shows upper and lower case which is useful. the font is also clear with no funny 'a' or 'g's it arrived flat so no curling issues!

This is subtle play learning at its simplist. Kid is already sitting down to eat, may as well throw in a little lesson! I've just bought my 3rd wigwam placemat in 3 years. The other ones are all in good knick and they have twice daily use for at least 2 years, wiping with detergent and sponge/surface spray (not scrubbing) - good size, colours, and durable. Might not be the cheapest mat but worth every penny.

schon beim Frühstück werden aus Neugier schon Fragen zum Platzdeckchen gestellt. Spielerisch und ungezwungen, ganz nebenbei werden nicht so häufig gebrauchte Buchstaben (X; Y) besprochen. Habe es auch schon 2 x verschenkt.

Buena calidad y bonito, a mi hija le encanta y se entretiene mucho mientras come, a la vez que aprende. Ojo que los dibujos están hechos para leer el abecedario en inglés. También tengo el de los números y nos encantan los dos.

Semplice tovaglietta in plastica, spessore nella media. Si pulisce facilmente. Qualità ottima, non si rovina facilmente, dopo qualche mese dell’acquisto nonostante l’uso e la pulizia continua è ancora come nuova. Stampa molto bella e colori vivaci. Unico neo il prezzo, forse un po’ troppo alto per il tipo di prodotto.

There are a lot of ABC placemats out there, but I like this one the best of those I have seen. It is colorful, shows the letters in both lower and uppercase, and shows a simple image for each letter. We talk with my 2.5 year old sonabout the letters and images during dinnertime, which I think is helping him to learn his letters. It is also a good thickness, wipes off easily, and the colors do not scratch off (like some other cheaper placements I have encountered). I am very pleased with this purchase.
