Lovely little headphones, fine on my big head
My older wired over ear headphones had earpads which were falling to bits so I chucked them and ordered these. I've just been listening to a Mozart piano concerto with them - excellent quality. Arcade Fire, Rebellion very clear, not that bassy. These JVCs are very low cost and also really tiny. They are now my standard ones to plug into the PC's mini hifi if it's late and my wife's gone to bed. They will also be useful on holiday. I also have some bigger bluetooth headphones but as my Pixel 6 Pro phone lacks an audio jack socket I just ordered a USB-C to stereo audio jack adaptor, so these will be my usual headphones in all sorts of situations, plane, train and on holiday. That's because they are so tiny when folded and so comfortable (on my very big head) in use. They are so small (over my big ears) that I'm not expecting them to keep out exterior sounds that much. But they cost so little for what they deliver!

Lightweight, comfortable, good sound.
Very lightweight, comfortable and with a surprisingly good sound, these headphones represent very good value. I give four stars because the foam on the ear pieces wears out quite quickly with frequent use, however, at the price it's quite economical to replace them with a new pair.

Would recommend
For the price paid these are real value for money and how true the old saying you get what it says on the tin, good sound reproduction, small yet comfortable to wear, and fold up so they fit in your pocket, or bag..

Cheap, good looking, though fragile.
Having had a recent poor experience with an entry level german made wired set of headphones, which I had purchased to replace my 1980s Sennheiser HD 50 lightweight ones, I decided to go rock bottom and buy the nearest thing to my 1980s phones. Back in the 1980s when the Sony Walkman portable cassette and all it's multibrand imitations came about, lightweight headphones were the norm and you could buy some pretty good ones. Nowadays, trends have changed and all sorts of other headphone styles and types exist. The JVC lightweight headphones from Amazon were a snip at £7 and have reasonable audio quality. Conversely, my HD50s were £35 around 1988, which according to the Bank of England inflation calculator translates to £95, in 2020. So I've no gripe with the £7 JVC price tag. I gave the JVCs to my daughter because her latest headphones had 'failed' (see below). But being foldable and in the hands of a youngster, they have an inherent weakness. The hinge pin can become detached. Each side having a hing pin, which is metal and normally resides comfily in a plastic recess. Metal into plastic is not ideal and over time (7 months) and several dislocations later, this hypermobility has got to a stage where the headphones are no longer viable. That said, you could probably make them last longer were you to treat them well, not lean on them, nor wear them in bed/fall asleep etc. Finally, these have been the first headphones in which the cat has not been interested and this goes to their credit. Our cat has a reputation for cleaning his teeth by chewing cables. He has chewed the internet adsl cable and several sets of headphone leads to oblivion. The old acting adage'never work with children or animals' might well apply to the personal audio world. Some day a manufacturer will take this on board and there will follow a golden age of headphones.

Cheap and Cheerful
These headphones are good for what you pay for them. They're not going to be exquisite, and if you expected that from the price you paid, you're a bit silly. The sound is good, you can hear music and dialogue easily through them and they're fairly comfy to wear. They do rub on the ears a bit after a few hours, but it's not terrible - you just have to adjust them every once and while. However, they do fall off quite easily. If you're sitting still, this is no problem, but leaning forward and reaching sideways to grab something will cause them to fall across your face in some shape or form - maybe off your head altogether. They leak sound too. If the music you're listening to has a strong bass, or the volume is above average, be aware everyone around you will be able to hear what you're listening to as well, if the surrounding area is quiet enough. Taking all of that into consideration, these headphones are a good pair to have and I'm glad I bought them. I'm a poor student, so this was perfectly in my price range, and the product is good enough that the (not too troublesome) cons don't bother me overly much. I would recommend.

Fantastic value...
The only criticism you could fairly level at these low price headphones is that they are quite a loose fit. Having said that, they do stay in place on your ears and do not feel uncomfortable BECAUSE they are such a loose fit. Remembering the discomfort far more expensive headphones cause after a short period of use, to me the loose fit is an advantage. They are in fact extremely comfortable & you forget you are wearing them at all very quickly indeed. I did test them against my newish Sony headphones (which fit tightly), and noted no difference in volume whatsoever. The JVC's did sound much louder than the Sony's if compressed against my ears... I would therefore reckon that JVC have factored in the loose fit in order to avoid low volume issues. To my ear, the overall quality was nearly as good as my £20 Sony's. It has a useful cable reach of 1.5 metres (my Sony's only have 1 metre, which can be a pain). They look great & far better quality than the price tag would suggest. I have noted reviews stating that they do not fold down small enough... Ahem... They do actually fold down to a semi-circle slightly smaller than 14cms by 6cms (without any exaggeration, about half the area of a tea saucer). Until JVC actually develop magic shrinking dust, Im not quite sure how they're meant to better this without compromising on looks, durability, or quality. It makes sense to adapt your purchases to your needs, and you'd surely spend a lot more on headphones to use with your high end living room Bose stereo (for example). For MP3, TV, Walkman, laptop or computer occasional use however, these truly are extremely fit for purpose... This is a good product at a ridiculously low price that is extremely hard to criticise.
