A great product from Roland.
Unlike many of those cheap midi leads you often see on other sites, these midi cables made by Roland just simply work. I tested these in Windows 7 Ultimate, and Windows 10 Pro, and they worked a bit better in Win7 - seemed more stable and no loss of notes. I connected a near 20 year-old Yamaha AN1X, loaded Yamaha's ageing editor and it worked first time. I was able to perform real-time changes to the AN1X, as well as upload many custom sounds found on the internet. The playing of notes, via the editor, was instant and I didn't notice any lag at all. The cable connects to any USB port, USB 2.0 or 3.0, but I would stick to 2.0 for 100% compatibility. Overall, a great product at a great price.

Resurrected my vintage Evolution MK-149 keyboard
I have a very old midi keyboard from the early 21st century: the Evolution MK-149. I had low expectations that it would work on a modern PC and iPad Pro, but this USB-MDI adaptor works great for both iPad Pro (plugging in via my Dell hub monitor) and plugged directly into a Windows 11 PC. I had to use the tiny switch for it to work on the iPad, but I was really impressed that it saved my old keyboard from the dumpster. The build quality felt lower than the price point would suggest, but I like the design, particularly the arrows for the outbound and inbound MIDI plugs.

Best Midi cable I have ever used.
If your in the market for a midi solution , this is the one you want , I use a Roalnd E-28, setup was quick and simple (follow instructions included) I have used many other midi cables in the past, I must say the UM-One MK2 is definitely the best midi cable I have ever bought. PROS : Works with every DAW I tried, Absolutely zero input Lag, Works with iPad too. The best sound quality of any midi system I have ever tried , no pops no crackles. Cons : None Awesome product 5 stars , I would have given it 10.

Expensive but works flawlessly!
This cable, although expensive, has saved a more expensive roland drumkit. The USB output on my TD17KV had randomly started causing the drumkit to freeze when connected to my PC and the only solution I could find online was using a MIDI to USB cable instead which has totally solved the issue. The cable was quite expensive, but I felt like buying a cheaper cable which would be less durable would just result in having to buy a replacement down the line. The build quality on this feels solid and there is no latency at all which was obviously essential. Definitely recommend spending a little extra for that added durability!

Works on my Yamaha PSR 340!!
I almost gave up on this product because I thought it would only work on newer, modern keyboards until I decided to read the manual on my old yamaha psr-340 about midi properties and after some tweaking and changing the mode from 'song' to 'style', it actually worked and responded to my windows 7 and 10 laptops. I have used this cable to record music and midi files on sequel and cubase and used the tab mode to connect it to my samung galaxy S7 phone. This cable has also allowed me to use my keyboard as a controller to play sounds from VST instruments like Halion in Sequel and Cubase. Please be aware that some software may have high latency which may cause lagging in playing notes. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS CABLE! Just use this cable with a good reliable software and there shouldn't be any issues.

Faulty
Hello, I have not had time to deal with this due to a busy schedule. The equipment does not work. I bought it as I was up against a deadline and it seemed to offer a speedy solution. I took a punt, waited for the delivery and set about the work. Highly disappointed as I could not use the connector. One red light only which meant that data was read one way only. Can you please adviese? Thanks, Huw

Flawless plug and play performance.
I had previously been using a Ploytec Terrasoniq MIDI One Bidirectional MIDI-To-USB cable and when I upgraded my laptop I was sad to discover that it apparently wasn't compatible with my new laptop. Knowing Roland to be reliable (and suspecting they would have better driver support for Windows 10) I bought this. As soon as I plugged it in, it downloaded the drivers and was good to go - brilliant! Latency is almost non-existent using my electronic drums and it never chokes. The only annoying thing is the red light that blinks with every single note hit. Useful as an initial troubleshooting indicator I guess but it would be distracting in a dark room. I guess it could be covered with electrical tape.

After some research I bought this Midi Interface Cable because it was the cable of choice for my needs. I am using it to interface my Korg Volca FM2 with my Macbook Pro and Arturia Keystep 32 Keyboard. This allows me to connect the Volca FM2 to my MacBook Pro in order to us the DEXED and SYNTHMATA Applications (and some others) to edit the Volca FM2 sounds and also to Upload Sysex Files into the Volca FM2. At the same time I can use my Keystep 32 to play the Volca FM2. Part of this review is to help others as the included instructions were useless. It's important to first download the Drivers for the MacBook Pro (or what ever computer you are using, such as Windows), install them and then Restart youy computer. Once you do this the Roland UM-ONE-MK2 should be recognized by your computer. Also there is a little switch on the side that needs to be in the COMP position. It's TAB (Tablet) to the left and COMP (Computer) to the right as you face the unit. Make sure you set this before you connect it to your Computer (or Tablet). The switch is recessed and a bit tricky to see and move, I needed a thin paperclip to set it and was not sure at first if the switch even moved so I tried it a few times just to be sure and it did. Roland could have designed this a little better. One of the important points about the Roland UM-ONE-MK2 is it handles Sysex File Transfer perfectly. Many of the off brand Midi Interface cables do not, they either drop parts of the file, corrupt it or won't transmit them at all. Pros: It works for my needs and has been 100% reliable Cables lengths are long enough for most applications. LED lights let you know it's functioning Cons: A bit Pricey but hey if it works it's worth it Mode Switch could be easier to see and use Included Instructions are useless Not really a big deal but I would have preferred they used the newer USB C Connector instead of the older USB A, so I am using an adaptor.
