Even the tiniest of them, the A5, which is not much bigger than my little finger and runs off a single AA battery is brighter even than my a D cell Maglite. The 2 AA LED Maglite is incomparable to the old bulb version and massively more powerful even than the 2 D cell (bulb). In fact I think it's just as bright as the Lenser P7 which surprised me. The build quality is decent but not really in the same league as the P7 which is a much chunkier, hardier beast, but at less than half the price I am not complaining. In fact, unless you really need a Pro level torch like the P7 I'd not bother and buy this Maglite instead because you get as much light and most of the build quality for half the price plus some potentially useful features like the automatic flash SOS option which could be useful for walkers who find themselves in difficulty.
