Send help. I am currently structural support for my own ceiling.
Let’s be entirely fair to the Pestshield Fly Catchers: they do exactly what they say on the box. They are sticky, hanging ribbons designed to trap flying insects. In fact, they are monumentally, deceptively, and aggressively sticky. If your goal is to eliminate flies, look no further. This product is a weapon of mass bug destruction. However, a word of extreme caution to anyone lacking Olympic-level hand-eye coordination. These are the classic coil traps where you hold the little cardboard tube, grab the red loop, and slowly pull to unwind the sticky ribbon. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. While attempting to unravel the first spiral, the coil didn't just unwind smoothly—it sprang upward like a heavily greased, chaotic slinky. Before I could react, a solid two feet of high-tack adhesive tape wrapped itself firmly around my right forearm and palm.Naturally, I panicked and used my left hand to try and pry myself loose. Big mistake. I was instantly trapped in a self-inflicted, sticky plastic handcuff situation. For ten agonizing, embarrassing minutes, I stood frozen in my own kitchen, questioning every life choice that led me to this moment. I eventually had to use my teeth to anchor the end while shuffling over to the sink to douse my limbs in vegetable oil, dish soap, and warm water just to liberate myself. The good news? It works. It works spectacularly. Once I finally got a second ribbon successfully hung up, it did its job flawlessly. It has caught every gnat and fly in the vicinity. Just make sure you have an escape plan or a spotter in the room before you start pulling that string.

Very effective for medium sized houseflies
These are not pretty things to look at but they work brilliantly. During recent hot weather, we were plagued by flies coming into the house through the open doors and windows. The fly swat seemed to be constantly in use, but the flies were quicker than we were! Bought these as a solution, but they arrived just as the weather changed, despite delivery being quicker than expected. As soon as the weather warmed up again and the doors and windows were opened, we hung one up, and it caught a dozen flies within a couple of hours. So good to be able to prepare and eat food without being "divebombed" by the pesky flies. Don't know how long they'll be effective for, but with UK weather, the fly season will soon be over no doubt, but I'll definitely be buying more of these when I run out. Not sure how effective it will be with for the big "buzzy" bluebottles, as the only one we've had in the house since wasn't attracted to it, but for the medium-sized houseflies it has been brilliant so far. It also caught a couple of smaller flies. Took the advice from another reviewer about warming them in our hands before unrolling - thank you for that, as it made it much easier. Update: It's now 3 weeks later - the original strips are still catching flies. Dozens of flies now dealt with and we can have the windows open in peace. Only one big "bluebottle" caught, but it's fantastic for the medium-sized "housefly" type.

Messy
Found the tab at the top of the tape kept coming off, so fingers got very sticky and messy, took a long time to fix where I wanted them. They work to some extent, but I was hoping they would attract all the flies, but this isn't happening.

Unclear
Ordered expecting clear to mean clear as in no colour. Instead they are similar to Rentokil ones but with a few differences... A tad smaller in length and width but if you hadn't used the R ones then you would not know; slightly paler in colour being a kinda honey gold colour. Small flies stick to it but the sticky stuff is not as generous as that on the R ones. Not quite as in your face as R. Whereas R ones might deal with bigger flies, unsure about these. Dealth with those little tiny fruit flies and also some horse flies that tunnelled their way through the doublglazed seals. If you get the latter type of fly be warned. Don't do as I did, expecting the strips to do all the work. You need to get swatting as horseflies lay their eggs within it seems minutes, which hatch out within 8-12 hours and they seem to hatch out in batches and always in pairs. Male and female 'children' are roughly 50-50 so high proportion of females bearing eggs. Six weeks and I am now down to about 2 pairs. As fast as you kill them another lot reappear. We have stables not far away and these flies have found that its a damned sight warmer indoors than outdoors. You can watch them travelling round the outside of any aperture, whether cupboard door, washing machine, fridge, trying to find a way in to reach water and nooks and crannies to lay eggs.

FAB U LOUS
I really don’t like fly sprays with chemicals, so decided to use these chemical free sticky strips. I put the sticky strip in the doorway of the conservatory and it gets loaded with flies, even caught a spider (goodness knows how that got on there) and a butterfly (sad about this) but it works! Admitting they don’t look nice, but hey at least we’re not choking on chemicals. They are a bit tricky to put up, you must warm the glue up before pulling the strip out of the cylinder, I leave in the sun for 10 mins and the strip pulls out really easily or they say warm in your hand for a while, the horrible bit is trying to hang it up without getting covered with glue, I had it in my hair etc yuck, but one up they’re great.

Rubbish
Almost useless. They do not attract insects and make no difference to the fly population. They are sticky to use and frequently come apart as you try to unfurl one. Never again.

Worked a treat
Arrived earlier than expected and works brilliantly. Have had many flies hanging around living room light fitting each day since the weather warmed up and wanted a non-chemical solution. The super sticky paper is a little fiddly to remove from the pot but once out and hung up, caught the first fly with 5 minutes and within 20 minutes 5 more had joined the party. Ugly to look at, sure, but works a treat. Can now have patio door open and not have to watch 10+ flies circling!

l'unica cosa che questa trappola sono i miei capelli
sfortunatamente, questi non funzionano. Li ho messi ovunque e non ha catturato una zanzara o volare da nessuna parte
