## Description

Product Description You're busy. You know that proper temperature and humidity are important. But who has time for constant monitoring of conditions in the places they matter most, like refrigerators, guitar cases, humidors, attics, basements and crawlspaces? SensorPush is the answer. Our Smart Sensors are compact and easy to use. They work with painstakingly designed mobile apps that not only make you love using them, but also require as little use as possible. It takes just a few moments to install our free app and pair your first sensor. After that, it's up to you. If you love data, SensorPush has it, with unlimited storage, beautifully graphed in-app or easily exported to CSV for use in software like MS Excel. Either way, you'll be amazed by what you can learn from a complete history of minute-by-minute updates. Or, sit back and relax. SensorPush is constantly monitoring conditions, even while you're sleeping or away. Upon your return, you'll be promptly alerted of any issues once data is downloaded via Bluetooth. If you’re going to be away for awhile, the sensor always maintains the most recent 20 days of data on board. For maximum peace of mind, add the SensorPush G1 WiFi Gateway for constant access and alerts from anywhere, via the Internet. Technical Specifications SensorPush was created by Cousins & Sears Creative Technologists Cousins & Sears is an award-winning creative technology design and development studio. The Brooklyn, NY-based team has worked on behalf of an incredibly wide variety of organizations from startups to the Fortune 500 across virtually every industry imaginable. The two partners, Jonathan Cousins and James Nick Sears, are as hands-on as it gets. They bring a range of expertise and knowledge not only from graphic design to software development and electrical engineering, but also in diverse subjects such as history and music. This broad base of experience means that everything from the sensor firmware to the apps themselves has been hand-crafted line by line. We believe the extra effort shows in the end result.

Review: No maintenance, accurate, simple. - (April 2019, 2 YEAR update! - Both sensors are still going strong, with a battery voltage of around 2.8 volts (I thought the battery lasted only 1 year? double that, and no sign of low battery). One's in the work office, and one's in my bedroom, over 600,000 readings for each. The app works fine with this much data on the Android system, and the CSV files export fine into Excel. NO crashes, NO needing to remove/insert the battery, not once, The Android app's never crashed. These ARE expensive, but I got what I paid for, and they do that very very well.) The device is simple to get started with - you download the App for Android, or iPhone, run it, and drop the thermometer block on your screen for a few seconds. That's it. Whenever you open the program, it reads all the temperatures and humidities that were collected since the last sync up. There's a new "Sync station" that picks up all your devices temperatures, and sends them to the gadgets website - where you can see them. It uses your existing WiFi network to send the data to the website, and the Low Energy Bluetooth connection between the WiFi and gadget. Info (pros): The battery lasts 1 YEAR, and can be replaced easily (no screws, just a plastic card like a credit card). The device can store AT LEAST 20 days of temperature and humidity - MORE if the temp doesn't change often, as it only stores temp changes and their date/time. You can CALIBRATE the device (instructions on the website). You can EXPORT all the readings your phone has picked up as an Excel compatible CSV file. You can give each sensor a name. The syncing distance is as good as claimed - it syncs across my house. (Cons): Temperatures are lost when it's re-calibrated. £50 at time of this review... Oww! . (But if you want "It just works!" - this is the device for you) The device IS NOT waterproof. But you can put it in a baggie. No direct-to-PC syncing.(For devices scattered around the house for example)
Review: Easy to use, accurate, reliable - I bought this sensor nearly 2 years ago for indoor use, because I wanted to see the trends in temperature and humidity in a specific room. It has served me well ever since - no battery change required yet. It's very simple to set up and use, and I'll certainly be buying more if/when my data logging needs expand. I didn't have to perform any calibration, as occasional tests against high accuracy equipment showed me it was quite good at its job without it. One downside is that the phone won't connect to the sensor automatically unless you open the app (presumably to save battery life), so I do have a gap over the summer when I forgot about it for a few months - the backlog of something more than 20 days helped bridge that, but wasn't quite enough. Still, that's my own fault for forgetting, not the product's! They made the WiFi Gateway partly to avoid data loss, but I've decided my need for that is not great enough at this point. Pros: - easy to set up - easy to use - accurate - long life - good app interface, allows for viewing of all the data (I know a cheaper similar product only shows up to the last 100 days, for example, which is just... strange?) - 20 day internal backlog is pretty good (again, the cheaper similar product I've seen needs to connect daily) - can export data to CSV files (and view with your favourite spreadsheet tool) Cons: - can lose data if you forget about it for too long (unless you also have the WiFi Gateway) - not waterproof (so you probably want something more robust for outdoor use) - not the cheapest

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this sensor be accessed by another device, like a raspberry pi? i want to use a raspi for environmental monitoring.**
A: Hi, we don't have a Linux SDK or public documentation available at this time. It is something we're looking at for the future though. Thanks!

**Q: I’m curious what the difference is between this and other £10 Bluetooth sensors?**
A: I researched the market before buying three sensors, for humidity measurements for the pipe organs in two different churches. In very broad terms you get what you pay for; accuracy and sensitivity (sometimes called discrimination, or resolution, or precision) both vary quite considerably between different brands and models, at different prices, as of course do facilities (such as remote reading, storage of data, etc.)

In a market where prices range from around £10 to well over £1,000, this is one of only two which I managed to find that had the accuracy and sensitivity that I was looking for, coupled with remote reading and storage of data (both of which were essential for our particular purposes); and both were broadly the same price. This one actually was fractionally the cheaper of the two.

The substantially cheaper ones do not achieve the same standards of accuracy and sensitivity, and/or they do not offer remote reading and data storage.

But check the technical specifications; if a cheaper one will indeed fully meet your particular requirements then go for it.

**Q: Is it good for a greenhouse (Ip68)?**
A: IP68 means waterproof. Seller has clearly stated that this is not as it has a hole in the case, is not sealed and the electronics will be damaged if water gets inside. It is perfectly usable inside a greenhouse if you protect it from water. Not if you want to spray water over it.

**Q: If I bought several sensors for different parts of the house, will the App be able to differentiate between the different locations?**
A: Hi Kevin,Yes! You can pair as many sensors as you like with a single phone/tablet, give each a name, and track them all separately. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks!Nick

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Elegant, accurate, hassle-free and versatile
*by D***I on 11 December 2016*

Bought this to monitor humidity and temperature for my mandolin in its hard case. It's ideal. Setup was a breeze ( both on my iPad and my android phone); readings very accurate (compared to a recently fully calibrated Kestrel weather device). The Bluetooth range is impressive. Compact size is great for an instrument case. The battery supposedly should last about a year, so no recharging hassles, no sockets to get damaged or cables to lose, and battery replacement looks easy. The app is clear and elegant. There is a facility to email yourself a Csv file of all data for use in a spreadsheet. There are cheaper options for this type of monitoring, but this is top notch. Apparently there are plans for a wifi bridge, which might be useful for some users who need to monitor when away from the sensor location (the device itself retains about 2 weeks worth of data). When Amazon was out of stock of this item, I contacted SensorPush and they got back to me immediately with accurate information about the restock date: so all the signs of excellent customer service. I will update in a few months time on long term performance, but for now I am completely satisfied.
