Swann Morton Blade Remover Unit Box : desertcart.co.uk: Everything Else Review: Good little piece of kit. - Although little in size this will hold pretty fair amount of spent blades. Used it the day it came, although there's no instructions, it is pretty self explanatory as to how to get the blades off the scalpel, pop the scalpel end in flat, drop it down and gently pull. Would be even better if we could then return the full blade bin if used regularly, in return for an empty one. Otherwise to that it's a good little piece of kit, to store what is infact a nasty little blade, if picked up by the tiny hands of unsuspecting children. Review: Great tool! - Really practical, now you can take off the blade and not risk to hurt yourself! The only complaint I have with this product is that you can find it easily on desertcart.co.uk but not on desertcart.fr. It's really annoying. We can find scalpels for arts and crafts, but not scalpel removers! This unit is really easy to use, and it can store a lot of blades!

Great product
Great little, must have box. Removing blades from the No. 3 handle can be a complete nightmare, and I have sliced my thumb by doing so. I use tiny jewellery pliers to safely slip the blade in place, when it's time for a new blade. I'd highly recommend using a little set of pliers to put your blades on because it can be very dangerous doing so with just your fingers. I use 10A and 11 blades on a No. 3 handle and this removes them safely and with ease. My only quibble is it's a tiny bit stiff when trying to open it, but I guess that's a good thing, as you don't want it popping open as you're trying to remove a blade.

A little fiddly to work out but such a help
It takes a little practice to get the hang of how to use these boxes (press down on the top while pulling the handle out at an upwards angle) but they're so helpful. I don't feel comfortable removing scalpel blades any other way.

Useful but...
Bought it to dispose the used blades but what's gonna happen when is full same problem. It would have been good if somehow could return the full unit back to the blade manufacturer to be recycled.

Safe and Easy Blade Removal
Very simple piece of kit. No instructions supplied other than a simple moulded pictogram on the box itself. No matter, it's easy to use - just insert the scalpel blade into the box as the pictogram shows and press down on the little tab at the end of the lid (slightly fiddly) and the blade is removed easily and safely for safe disposal when the box is full. A very useful (safety) item.
