Tipke Full-Height Rear Gate for Fold-It Carts 5500

Very well fabricated, excellent fit. Goes on an comes off easily. It’s nice to have the option to enclose the cart.

A bit annoying to install every time. You cannot fold cart with it installed, so you must remove & reinstall it every time. It seems like it should only take 10 seconds to install -- just slide it in -- but for some reason it confounds me every time. If I used it weekly I might remember the little tricks better I suppose. The cart itself is awesome (!), and if you need to hold sand, dirt, graavel, etc. you will NEED to buy this gate, so you have no other option. It seems as well made as the rest of the cart. It is just difficult to slide into place each time.

When I was about to order the Rear Gate 5500, I wanted to make sure that it would fit the Tipke 2100 Cart.. I could not find a rear gate 2100 to fit the cart on Amazon. The chat representative said it would definitely fit. I ordered both the Cart Tipke 2100 and the Rear Gate 5500. The flanges for insertion of the rear gate 5500 on to the cart 2100 are cut to short and the gate with any pressure like soil in the cart, the rear gate falls off. Even after making adjustments, it would not stay on and to make it work I had to use 3 "C" Clamps just to keep the rear gate on. I used two "C" clamps, one each side and one on the bottom. The TIPKE Company should make a rear gate that fits the Tipke Cart 2100. The Cart itself is great. I contacted the Amazon representative to complain and adjustments were made.

My rear gate slides in easily and fits well. I regularly alternate between garden cart and bike trailer and find the transition quick and easy to make. With a small garage...this is a perfect solution. As a bike trailer, with the rear gate in, the rig works like a charm. Around the yard we use it for hauling plants and firewood. Then it folds up flat against the wall for storage! I'm very satisfied.

I am writing this review after 4 years of owning this cart. I use this cart for marine & camping purposes: 1. To haul fishing gear from my campsite to my boat. 2. To haul water jugs to my RV 3. To haul wood to my campsite I have found this cart extremely handy and durable. The cart is easy to push while loaded and not difficult to fold and unfold (once you get the hang of it). I usually transport it inside my boat or on top of my camper. It is very light for its size and folds to an easily transported package. I also purchased the tailgate. One warning: since it is made of aluminum, do not throw wood or anything heavy into the cart as it can easily be dented. Place the items into the cart gently! Since it is made of aluminum, the cart is light, there is no rust, and the dents can easily be pushed back out. This cart is a bit spendy but if I had the choice, I would buy this product again.

We took this camping on Cumberland Island and it worked beautifully in the soft sand even though it was loaded with heavy items, including a large cooler. The cart folds easily and takes up very little space. Even though it is lightweight, it is very strong and made our trip much easier.

The cart is great and the rear gate adds to the function. Adding the gate makes it possible to add loose and bulky items. The gate fits nicely on the cart and make the system complete. My only complaint is that it should be included in the cart for a small nominal cost

You have to customize it for it to work for you it’s pretty flimsy but I added some diamond plate aluminum for stability
