Is the suction cup itself easy to remove from whatever surface you've attached it to?

Hi Charlotte, yes, very easy. You lift the 'locking' lever to release the suction and lift the soft edge with the little tag.Honestly easier to do than describe.KeithP.S. I used mine on the outside of a Cessna to film my first takeoff & landing and it was still attached when I got out. LoL.

Does it work with the GoPro Hero 4 Black?

All go pro camera's have the same connections, you use the supplied housing with the suction cup! It will defo work, hope this helps

No not unless you bought a gopro mount with a male tripod screw (aftermarket)
