Review: I love this simple DJ party mix controller - Before I opened the box , it was very light and came in big box surrounded it, excited and keen to try my new DJ controller I did have a numark 2 channel mixer before and trusted the confidence in the technology Numark has come a long way since 20 ago I opened it up and checked through everything and numark has certainly packaged it well, What you get , instructions a mixer and usb connection which just makes it plug and play Great for beginners who just wanna start out, get quickly set up. As it headache to learn and if don’t know what you’re doing, for I been DJ ing and producing music and singing for 30 years and I use this to connect it to my virtual DJ software, which I downloaded first, I suggest getting DJ controller which basically syncs to the Virtual DJ software you got to honest I only have used Virtual DJ as it does everything you want I’m very pleased with it so far.. Review: A great bit of Kit - A really simple and easy to use DJ interface. Ok there are bigger and better on the market, I know I've had and used them, this unit has a lot of the functionality at a fraction of the cost and size. Plus points Compact size Inbuilt sound card Programmable pads for cue points/samples/effects that can be assigned and swapped at the touch of a button Comes with Virtual DJ, the easiest solution for broadcasting or streaming ( video and karaoke also work directly in the software) without the need for external recorders or broadcasters Quick and easy plug and play and easy to set up (only limited by your computer, i5 or above recommended for streaming or full HD video, but that's software not hardware) Light, robust, portable Downsides No Mic input (not a real issue as there are plenty of great USB mics available and you have just saved a couple of hundred quid buying this so you could buy a semi decent Shure or Röde and still take the other half out to dinner) It does look and feel a bit cheap and plasticy and that's because it is cheap and plasticy, but if it's about performance and not asstetics this does exactly what it should and has never let me down. I've had one for 5 years, it's traveled with me around the world, been used in bars, clubs, on tours and is currently my go to device in a radio studio purely for its ease of use and compact design. As a starter unit, a practice unit or just a general use unit save your money and buy one of these. **Q: so what would be the difference with this and those super expensive pioneer controllers? Is this worth buying for a producer?**
A: The difference between this controller and the more expensive Pioneer controllers would be the fact that they don't allow you to do as much. It genuinely depends on your experience as a DJ though. If you are interested in learning how to DJ then I would recommend purchasing this controller. It is quite small and easy to use for someone who doesn't have much experience. However, if you already have experience as a DJ then I would suggest purchasing the Pioneer DDJ SB-2 controller or the Numark Mixtrack Platinum. They currently range from anything between £250-£400. The pitch slider on this controller is quite small which makes it more difficult to adjust the bpm. The jog wheels and overall controller are also quite small. However, the benefit of having a small controller is that you won't become overwhelmed by a huge controller that you don't know how to use. You also don't want to purchase an expensive controller if you don't intend to pursue a career as a DJ. Therefore, this would definitely be a great controller for someone who wants to practice DJing as a hobby.                To be perfectly honest purchasing this controller wouldn't be of any benefit to someone who wants to produce music. If you wish to produce music I would recommend buying a MIDI keyboard and Fruity Loops 12 Producer Edition. I hope that this helps if you have anymore questions please don't hesitate to ask.

**Q: Christmas day mum help needed! How do you get music into this thing!**
A: First, download the software, Virtual Dj LE. Then plug it in to your computer and open the software. Once in the software, tell it where your music is on your computer. You can then drag tracks in to each deck on the software.

**Q: Out of 10 how would you guys reccomend this for djing in bigger places?**
A: I recently purchased the Numark 3 (non pro - with no sound card) and purchased the DJiO2 (sound card) My controller has the virtual Numark alternative in the 'interface' settings. I think for the money this is great value, simple if you know the basics and not difficult if you don't. Depends what you mean by djing in bigger places!? I hooked mine up to some decent active monitor speakers for some punch, so the controller will connect to a small and larger sound system. I'm no superstar dj but as a starter, without spending a fortune, good place to start. The only problem is, if you get in to it, you'll probably want an upgrade sooner or later - possibly the software. Think about what you're wanting to do with it ie, house parties, weddings etc and think about what other of pieces of extra kit you might need and how much it might cost. It's easy to feel like you're in the chocolate factory.

**Q: I bought this controller, my code for virtual DJ wasn’t working on it so I can no longer use the free version as the trial has ran out?**
