Would this damage the blades? If so, can you recommend a more approprieate tool? Thanks !** A: Yes it would. These cutters are designed for cutting cables. So copper or aluminium. Depending on the size of the push pin, at a guess I would say a decent pair of tin snips, or a hacksaw **Q: Been using the 6/8 inch ones for a year and a half almost, not actually realised are these insulated or not?** A: I wouldn't like to cut a live wire with them. The handles are PVC lined but not for electrical isolation. I think more for comfort. **Q: Is it ok for cutting meter tails ?** A: 25mm2 ? Yes no probs. **Q: Is there an actual maxiumum they can cut and strip? Says 9mm2 on description but would be highly surpised if that's the max!??** A: The small section at the front will easily cut and strip 2.5mm2, as has been said it will do 1.5mm but they are sharp so be careful otherwise you’ll cut it off. The larger section is probably good for up to the best part of 100mm2 if you ring the sheath and then pull it off. Not used on anything above 25mm2 myself though.
