Good product but a little loose on my iron skillet

I bought this to go with my iron griddle pan. It’s a must! It fits really well, is nice and thick so it makes the pan comfy to hold. There’s not a hint of heat coming through. Now I have this I wouldn’t use any of my cast iron frying pans without it. Your hands are too valuable to make that inevitable mistake of picking up a very hot pan and suffering the consequence.

Definitely cool to touch even when pan very hot. Easy to clean. I throw in dishwasher. A bit loose on the fit though which for me makes it feel a little precarious when lifting a heavy full pan. Often end up using oven gloves to grab the other side anyway

Used this on a very very hot lodge pan handle which had been in a high heat and was melting any cloth it came into contact with. Forgot and left this on the pan handle when I reinserted it into high heat ….. Amazingly it withstood without charring or burning … the top changed colour to grey ! But still gave fantastic protection. No hesitation giving 5 stars.

Rubbish. According to customer service you must remove it from the handle the minute it is in place, which in itself is an ordeal. Even when following those guidelines, mine disintegrated after 4 months of occasional use. Just use a cloth. It is not fit for purpose and you won’t get any customer service from Amazon or Lodge when you try to complain. Avoid this over priced item.

Very good product. I use it for my LODGE combo cooker (2 pans) and it works great. The adjustment it is good. When cooking the top and bottom keeps only a bit warm (you can hold it with bare hands), from the sides might be a bit warmer. Great!

Alles supper

This is so easy to put on and take off my frying pans that I use it all the time and purchased a second one. It really does protect your hand from the heat, even if you put the frying pan in the oven to bake something. I used to feel heat through my oven mitts when I used them to remove the pan from the stove, but now I slide this on and remove the pan with my hand and there is not heat. Would highly recommend.

Usefull and good quality

I make a lot of eggs in the ten inch skillet, and a dishcloth or towel is great for grabbing the handle when you're just using a metal turner to get fried eggs out. But, if you need to tilt the pan for scrambled eggs or omeletes (or other things), it's better to have a more secure grip by using this handle holder. I'm minimalist and I gave the dishcloth/dishtowel method a good shot, but more and more I kept thinking I needed something more robust for dishing out/plating certain foods. Glad I got this now because it solves all of that and puts it out of my mind. Lodgeware does require its accessories, I find, but I'm okay with that because I love Lodge cast iron so much in the first place. Also, this handle holder has a secure grip, in my experience, but possibly for the others who said the grip was unstable, maybe they left the handle holder on the hot handle, and it expanded with the heat? Dunno, but I only use it while plating/serving, when I really need it, otherwise I continue to shift/adjust the pan on the burner normally, with the dishcloth/towel, which is no trouble, which is how things are done in all of the restaurants (I've cooked in several restaurants). You can play around with it to see if leaving the handle holder off till you really need it makes for a more robust grip in your experience, but I still recommend this handle holder, no matter what, because if it really does expand/loosen with heat, then think of the alternative: ... if the grip were made smaller, then it would be harder to get the handle holder onto the handle, and that's physics, there's no two ways around that. So get this handle holder and enjoy it, it's a great product that you need if you have Lodge skillets!!!
