How quiet is the logitech ergo compared to the microsoft sculpt? i'd like to find an ergonomic keyboard that can't be heard during audio conferences.

In terms of quietness, I think this one and the sculpt are pretty similar. I do find this one far easier to type on. Now, had you asked for a comparison to the original Ms ergonomic kb, this one is a world of difference, VASTLY more quiet, no more clattering away like a machine gun!

I don't see a Windows button. Can any of the keys replicate it?

The start key is the Windows key. Windows 95-XP had the word Start on the Start Menu. I didn't use Win Vista or 7, but on Windows 10, if you hover the mouse over the start menu, a floating label pops up that says start.
