I would say the growant works better, explosive growth. Low heat, the drivers are just warm to the touch, the fans are quite. These have a mix of Bridgelux/Epileds LED Chips, each pod of leds is 60 watts with lenses with a led driver for each pod Plants seem to love them . Definitely more red than blue to this one. I been running this at about 18 to 20 inches, Has good penetration of light through the canopy. the light output is probably better for more of a rectangle shape than square. 2 x 3. If it holds up.
