Finally — a texture spray that actually works on fine hair!
I have very fine, flat hair and I’ve tried so many dry texture sprays over the years — drugstore brands, salon brands, “volumizing” ones, you name it. Most of them either did nothing, made my hair feel sticky, or weighed it down even more. This Kristin Ess Dry Texture Hair Spray is the only one that has actually delivered real results for me. It gives my hair the perfect light, touchable hold and adds noticeable texture and volume without ever looking or feeling crunchy. I love the soft matte finish — it looks like I just walked out of the salon, not like I sprayed product in my hair. The fresh pear scent is light, clean, and pleasant (not overpowering at all). I use it on my natural waves and it really helps them hold their shape while still feeling soft and natural. A little goes a long way, and it doesn’t make my fine hair feel stiff or heavy. I’ve already repurchased and will keep buying it. If you have fine or thin hair and have been let down by other texture sprays, this one is worth it. 5 stars all the way!

My favorite dry texture spray
This has been my favorite dry texturizing spray for almost 2 yrs now. I started using this after I chemically damaged hair with repeated lightening. I had to avoid shampooing my hair to prevent more damage and to help my new hair color last as long as possible. I also have an oily scalp. I usually can't last more than a full 24 hrs before my hair close to my scalp looks flat and gross. I mostly use this dry texture spray within 2 inches of my scalp. I try not spray it too much further down because my hair is already very dense and most of the chemical damage is on the lengths (towards the ends). This dry texture spray would only make the dry, dry fragile parts of my hair drier and more prone to knots. This spray works well as far as reducing how oily my scalp looks and adding a bit of volume. Whenever I want my long hair to look as nice as possible, I will use this spray on the lengths (from my scalp to the top of my ears). I use it sparingly since my hair is so fragile. I spray some of my subtle face-framing layers and some of the subtle layers around the rest of my head. This creates a more piecey look, making my layers more noticeable, while also allowing for a lot of natural movement. This spray allows me to get thru half a second day (sometimes almost all of a second day) of not washing my hair. If all you need is a dry shampoo, I would search for something else. But I like this spray so much that I just apply it after I've worked in a small amount of another dry shampoo. This allows me to go *at least* a full two days without washing my hair. If I want to last another day, I just refresh with a little bit of this spray or a very tiny amount of dry shampoo. The fragrance is nice. Not overpowering. It's not sickeningly sweet; it doesn't smell like men's fragrance. It's very subtle. You dont have to worry about using this with another fragrant hair product. The scent of this is so light that it likely won't compete with another fragrance. I used to think this spray was so expensive, but I've changed my mind after using it for so long. It's a great product, so it's already worth the price. But it also cuts down on the amount of other products, time, and effort I have to use if I didn't have it. I usually recommend this product to anyone who's interested in trying a dry texture spray for the first time. It's hard to mess up with this one. If it doesn't provide enough grip, you can try layering it on. If it doesn't seem to provide enough hold or oil absorption, no need to wash your hair just to restyle it. It's so lightweight (unless you've layered it on heavily) that you can just apply another product on top of it; then use it for touch ups when you want to go as long as possible without washing your hair. I also recommend this to anyone dealing with "slippery," thin (usually blonde) hair that slips out of hairstyles (even basic ponytails) very easily. This product adds enough grit to stop the slippage, but not so much that the hair becomes prone to tangles and knots. Hope this helps! This is one of those products where buying it and not being impressed doesn't really hurt bc you can find a use for it so it doesn't go to waste.

For Soft, Workable Hair—Not Helmet Hair
Don't get me wrong, Color Wow is good if you're looking for that crazy, over-the-top, super-polished hair. But that's not always what I want. I'm a '70s girl, and I like hair that moves. I want something workable, touchable, and natural-looking. I have fine, limp hair, and sometimes I just need a little trick to give it some life without turning it into a stiff helmet. When I want that relaxed summer curl look, I reach for this instead of hairspray. It gives me hold, texture, and movement without making my hair crunchy. My only complaint is the nozzle. I have a little arthritis in my hands, so it can be a bit difficult to use. Other than that, I really enjoy this product. Boom. Pow. It does the trick.

Decent texture spray
I loved the scent. It had no problems with spraying even to the end like some other cans do. It kept my hair soft and gave a decent amount of volume. I didn’t think it gave me enough texture as some other products do. My hair is very fine, so I need something with a little more texture I can feel, but I did like it and loved the smell.

The Press-Down Trigger Did Not Work, Reason for One Star
Firstly, I LOVE Kristin Ess products ! For some reason the spray nozzle on the bottle I received would not dispense the texturizing hair product. I was really annoyed as I couldn’t wait to get the product. I have several Kristin Ess products and never had a single issue. Love them all. I be The bottle did not have a cap ? But I’m not sure if it’s suppose to have one, but I’d say yes, there probably was one, but didn’t make the trip. Item could have been dried out due to having no cap. Or, the particular can I received was just a defective can/bottle, therefore causing press-down pump sprayer to stick in place. I did not let the issue cause me to re-think Kristin Ess products. I reached out to Amazon, they immediately credited my Amazon account and I simply ordered another can. It’s suppose to arrive today and fingers crossed that this can works. I have thinning hair, due to an issue I haven’t pin-pointed yet, and it bothers me tremendously. I’m sure others can relate. These products do a remarkable at making my hair fuller, not sticky, easy to manipulate my finished hair and products just do their job no matter how much I may mess around with strands of hair moving them around etc. I am not a fan of ‘smells’, but Kristen Ess products have just a light soft-ish fragrance that I not only tolerate well, but love. Last thing, my hair stays smelling so nice and fresh even after several days between washes (due to thinning I do not want to damage my hair, so I probably wash and condition twice a week). On day three my hair looks, feels and smells like it did on day I washed it and used a couple of these products, like a leave-in and the texturizing light hair spray after shampooing and conditioning with Kristin Ess products. So there ya go. I am a huge fan with thin hair, which bothers me so much. I’m far from vain, but I want my thicker hair back. LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE PRODUCTS! By the way, I don’t participate in leaving reviews, so it says a lot for me to do this.

My hair finally holds a curl!!!
At the ripe age of 52, I have finally figured out how to make my hair hold a curl! I have fine, slightly wavy hair. It's got just enough body to be frizzy, but not the kind of frizzy that would benefit from the "curly girl method" regimen. Tried that and failed already. My hair refuses to hold a curl. I had it styled last month with beautiful curls and ran to take pictures before they all fell out, which happened in about 45 minutes. They NEVER last. I once had a professional hairstylist try to curl my hair for a walk on part and after a couple of futile attempts she frustratedly asked me why I didn't tell her up front that my hair wouldn't hold a curl. Embarrassed, I said, "I thought maybe you knew a trick I didn't." She softened after that, but the point stands that my natural hair's stubborn refusal to bend to any curling iron's will confounds professionals too. I tried "curly" hair products, but they're just for defining truly curly hair, not mine. They left my hair straight, limp and greasy. Searching for "curl spray" only turned up other similar disasters. Somehow, my searches this time turned up a "texturizing spray" that led me here. Well, not HERE to this product, but to another way more pricey version. Knowing the key term was a "texturizing spray", I ended up here and bought this spray. Today, I tried it along with a brand new (cheap) curling wand to do my hair for Thanksgiving and holy cow, I've finally found what I'm looking for! I sprayed this onto my dry hair, and massage it in, letting it dry. I didn't use more than a few split second shots of spray. I noticed my freshly dried hair definitely looked like it had a lot of volume, but it's always that way right after being dried. Volume? Frizz? Sometimes it all just looks the same to me. As I went to work with the curling wand, I left each curl to cool and dry on its own. I made it all the way around both sides of my head and was shocked that My curls were still holding. In fact, when I ran my hands through the curls I thought, "Oh this is too much. I can't style this. I'll look ridiculous. I need a barrette or something." After about 30 minutes the curls calmed down enough that I felt comfortable with them, but I was shocked! My hair doesn't hold a curl! Except now it does! I took a photo of the back of my hair 20 minutes after first curling it, and took a comparison photo of my hair 9 hours later. Most of my curls are still there! This has never happened in my life. My long time hairstylist just used a hair straightener on my wedding day because we both know there was no hope if trying for curls. But this spray has made the impossible possible! There are several criticisms of this spray that I have read in other reviews. My thoughts on them: Yes the spray nozzle is a little temperamental. At first I thought it was broken but after a firm press and a test spray into the sink, I had it figured out. Some people say they don't like the scent. There is no strong, discernible scent that I can tell. Other commenters have written that it's not as great as another brand of texturizing spray. That may be so. I went for this brand because it was one of the cheaper ones. Still, I'm amazed. Just amazed. So amazed that I'm writing this on my phone on Thanksgiving night. So yeah, 5 stars from the curly haired woman sitting on her couch.

Not impressed and the scent is nothing fantastic
I had such high hopes for this product but was a little let down. First important thing to know is that in order to get the product to spray you have to find a firm surface to press the top of the hairspray against to kind of unlock it so you can use it. I had to do research to figure this out. Second thing to know is about the scent. So many reviewers raved about the scent but I personally do not like it. It’s difficult to describe but to me it’s heavy and sort of like musky. The scent is the biggest reason I don’t care for this hairspray.

Great texturizing spray
I like to try things... but this is one volumizing product I keep in stock as it works consistently well. In addition to the product being good, the sprayer is one of the few that doesn't clog up and make it a mess to use. I use this every day and swear by it for some added floof to my day.

Disappointed
I have very fine hair and found this did not help at all. Definitely not worth the high price!

👍🏻
Brilliant, though a little goes a long way- adds textures and volume. Smells lovely, can leave a tacky feel on mine if I overdo it. Though I have fine thin hair.

Great Product
Love this product! works really well to add volume and hold texture and a style without being sticky/wet/rock solid or any of the other textures that are overkill.
