Pay attention closely to the models in the description.
Note the models that this fits in the description. For my model (8000TR-OAK), it says only for serial numbers pre 00211XXXX. I have a post serial number and this did not work on mine. While it all fits fine, the pilot orifice is different and the flame was too small to get proper voltage from the thermopile. So donโt ignore the serial number blocks on the models. I purchased a different on for the post serial number block and it works perfectly. I am still rating this five starts because it works fine, just not for my model.

Replacement Part for Heat-N-Glow 8000trc
I replaced the pilot assembly on my 1999 Heat-N-Glo 8000trc gas fireplace. This item is a plug and play. I was able to replace the pilot assembly without disconnecting any gas lines, although I did shut the gas off. For the customer who said in her review that the gas line was crimped on her item, the line that she was referring to was not a gas line. The thermopile does connect with a copper tube, and is crimped on purpose so that you don't try to connect that part to gas. The thermopile copper tube was crimped on my assembly too. The pilot line (silver aluminum line) is the only gas line in this assembly. I did seal the bracket holes that the lines run through with the supplied gaskets and some Permatex 81630 Ultra Red High Temperature Gasket Maker (bought on Amazon). After a few bloody knuckles, I soap tested the pilot connection and all gas connections. Works like a charm. Pilot has been running for a week and the fireplace starts up with the flip of a switch each time. I did not need to adjust the pilot flame, but it is only the turn of a screw if need be.

Not a replacement for 4021-736. Doesn't work with Heat and Glo gas fireplace.
Not compatible with my fireplace (Heat and Glo SL-550TRS-C). The thermopile sits too low in the metal housing and isn't exposed to enough flame to generate the necessary voltage to keep the gas valve open. Ended up purchasing a thermopile and installing it in my original bracket. Avoid this product.

Perfect OEM Replacement
This item was a perfect fit, match and functions perfect as a replacement for my Heatilator natural gas fire place. My flame started going out intermittently which usually means the Thermopile (flame sensor) is starting to fail. Since the pilot light fixture and the thermo couple were all original, it is best to replace all while you have it apart. Hopefully, I don't need to replace for several years but this is a great fit. I went to three fire place stores in town, one didn't carry it, one was out of stock, and the last wouldn't sell it to me (they only want to do service work) so my options where limited.

let there be fire
Kinda of a pain to install, but not difficult. Just some reaching around in the fireplace and you are good to go!
