This was an awesome buy. The stones themselves are excellent quality, you get six flat stones and six round stones. One of each stone pre loaded in the included holder. The holders are both pretty nice, no quality concerns at all. The scribe pictured was included even though its not itemized on the product contents. Overall I'm very pleased with this purchase ☺️

More than expected. Will do the job and more

Comes with a nice little cardboard box to keep everything in. None of the soapstone pieces were broken. The Scribe seems to cut into the metal adequately. The scribe tucks into the gap in the box, and I lift it in and out with a paper. ( see picture). The soapstone is loose inside the holder, ( See picture where I'm pointing with my pencil) but there is no way around it because of the design. So just hold it the other way around (See picture)

used these for years, one problem is don't leave it laying on the work bench,it will disappear, marker soapstone lasts, if you work with steel you need this tool

Psa: Bend the little tab back as far as you can to make it easier to advance your soapstone. The metal that holds the soapstone is very soft so you will probably have to do it multiple times. Not sure if it is brass or what but it’s not steel as not magnetic. The slide that the stone goes into though seems to be steel as it is magnetic. The last picture where the holder looks like a hook or s seems to be perfect, ymmv just wish the holder was steel or something that did not bend as easily.

This is a excellent kit and comes with everything I need including a metal scriber. Even the packaging is top notch. Holds soapstone in place, just like it should. I have a Lincoln holder and it's a PITA, the soap always falls out and breaks. Great kit & great price.

I love it, makes my life a lot easier, you may have a hard time getting the chalk to stay down with the round one if it’s too sharp, just dull it down and it should write a lot easier! Measured my plates with it and got a decent weld in
