Worked right out of the box

Before I applied power to the Orange Pi 4 LTS 4GB I attached some quality heat sinks to both the processor and the two ram chips. After attaching a video monitor, mouse, and keyboard to the Orange Pi I applied power and it went though the boot sequence in the 16 GB eMMC and booted into the Orange Pi Desktop. Once the Desktop was displayed, I used the WIFI app to connect to my home router. After that I successfully SSHed into the Orange Pi 4 LTS from my Windows PC using PUTTY.My Orange Pi came with Ubuntu 22.04 installed on the eMMC and did not have a web browser installed. So I followed the instructions in the Orange Pi 4 LTS User Manual to install Firefox which installed without any issues.I have burned a 128 GB micro SD card with the Orange Pi Bullseye Desktop OS to see if I can boot from the Orange Pi "TF" slot on the underside of the board. So far so good.

    Poor/missing documentation for linux users

*by W***S on Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2023*

I do not have a windows computer, but instead have a Ubuntu computer. I wanted to "burn" the Ubuntu image to this board to the eMMC. The documentation has a broken link and the details of how to burn a ubuntu linux OS to eMMC are not documented. Seller: please provide detailed instructions for linux users to burn the ubuntu image to the eMMC using a linux computer. Not everyone has (or wants) Windows!!!!! Very frustrated at the shortsightedness of the product/design, & missing documentation.

Did not work out of the box

*by C***G on Reviewed in the United States on April 14, 2023*

It looked like it was DOA and would not boot from the SD or the flash drive. I downloaded the image for Orange Pi OS Arch linux but it was empty. I found a download page for the device and downloaded Ubuntu and Debian. I found that the DC port was more reliable than the usb c port for power and was able to boot to sd but still not flash. The Ubuntu image didn't have the web browser configured properly so clicking it from the dropdown menu only gave an error, running chromium directly worked. I booted instead from the Debian image which was configured properly. I used the sudo nand-sata-install command to copy the image to flash and it booted fine to flash. There is a wiki out there that has pretty good information for it. It runs hot so I highly recommend getting one with the heatsink case.
