IS IT POSSIBLE โข That the New York Times bestseller, The Harbinger, by Jonathan Cahn, is unwittingly leading evangelicals astray? โข That the nine โsealsโ or โsignsโ are not prophetic in nature but are the product of another agenda? โข That the alleged โancient mystery that holds the secret of Americaโs futureโ is indeed mysticalโbut not biblical? The handwriting is on the wall for Americaโor so it would seem. While national repentance is always a good thing to pray for, it is important to understand the signs of the times biblically. Many self-proclaimed prophets are speaking out, leaving readers and viewers with questions like these: โข Did God allow 9/11 as a โharbingerโ for the United States? โข Is โGround Zeroโ evidence of an ancient vow coming home to roost? โข Is America on borrowed time due to a broken presidential โconsecrationโ from 1789? Discover the answer to these questions and more in David James' groundbreaking exposรฉ that enables readers to discern truth and separate FACT from FICTION. Review: Logically and Scripturally Based: The Harbinger contains mystical Kaballah elements - David James has done an outstanding job explaining why The Harbinger does not stand up to Biblical standards. Although the concept of repentance for our nation is a good one as God promised in 2 Chronicles 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.", there are many concepts in The Harbinger which do not belong in Christian doctrine. One major point is the question, "Does America have a covenant with God?". We have the Biblical example that God initiated a covenant with Abraham. We do not find Abraham initiating a covenant with God. Biblically, there have only been two covenants: 1) The Abrahamic covenent 2) The New Testament Covenant of Salvation through Jesus Christ. In both, God initiated the covenant. George Washington did not initiate a covenant with God on behalf of American and America is not the new Israel. Many Christians are being deceived and distracted from the TRUE word of God to falsehood such as The Harbinger. Secondly, Christians have fallen for the lie that Jonathan Cahn is a modern day prophet as a result of reading this book. Jonathan Cahn, himself has said publicly that he is not -- yet when introduced as a modern day prophet on the Glen Beck show, the Jim Bakker show and many others, fails to correct that error. Furthermore, the coincidence of the character of Nouriel in the book being from the line of Jewish priests (as Mr. Cahn's website also boasts of being not only from the Rabbinical line, but also of the line of Aaron) did not escape this reader. From the introduction of The Harbinger, the reader is told that this work is a work of fiction, but claims that the principles in it are real. Which is it? Fiction or Fact (great title there, Mr. James). The good message of the Harbinger: our nation needs to repent of its sin and return to God (2 Chronicles 7:14). Did it take writing a purported new prophetical book laced with Jewish mysticism to accomplish this message? NO! Is our nation the New Israel? No. Thanks, Mr. James for your patience in writing this review. It was very much needed. Telling the truth comes with a lot of backlash, doesn't it? Why people just don't go to the Bible to know more about God, is beyond me. The evidence of Kaballah mysticism is explained by the reviewer, RAFAEL but for convenience I will list two youtube videos. One is of Cahn teaching at his church using the Zohar. This video is only three minutes long but if you want the full version search youtube for Jonathan Cahn The Zohar Speaks. The three minute video gets to the point, but after viewing the second video I will provide the link for, you will begin to recognize certain key words from the mystic Zohar that Cahn uses in his sermon. If you're really faithful in wanting to know the truth, listen to the entire Billy Phillips video and you will recognize these "metaphysical" aspects being used in The Harbinger. For me, this information was conclusive and shocking that these concepts are being taught in Christian churches -- introduced slowly and coated with eye dazzling, mouth watering, ear tickling attraction. Regardless of the coating, the inside is foul and rotten from the core. Kaballah teaches mysticism, numerology (Bible/Zohar codes) and metaphysical (Cosmic skull, reaching levels of consciousness, etc). You should be able to recognize the Kaballah tree from The Harbinger. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAFtormiU_0 - Jonathan Cahn Teaches "The Zohar Speaks" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adjuFf2QekE&feature=em-share_video_user - Billy Phillips (no bones about it, he openly teaches Kaballah) I find it interesting that posters attack the individual for providing proof by accusing them of anti-semitism. This has nothing to do with race -- it has everything to do with occultism that is slowly and steadily creeping into the Body of Christ. We are supposed to reject these kinds of things. Is the Body so dead that it is no longer capable of recognizing truth by discerning using HIS Word -- the bible? If you want to learn to repent (as The Harbinger is supposed to invoke), then READ GOD'S WORD. It's been in there for over 2000 years. Review: a book well worth reading - I want to say thank you to David James for writing the book: The Harbinger Fact or Fiction ? I have been a believer for a long time and have read and studied the Word for many years. However, when I read the Harbinger I was so taken in by the coincidence of events, finding the accuracy of Mr Cahnโs references, etc that I didnโt even think. I was taken in by Mr Cahnโs sequence of events in Isaiah 9:10 and the sequence of events as he presented them at 911. My spiritual gift of discernment didnโt serve me well or shall I better say that I did not choose to use it. If you would have asked me if God had a covenant with America I would have said no, only with Israel, but again I was taken in by Mr Cahnโs presentation. I was amazed by how easily I was taken in by his story. I did have some โminorโ thoughts and questions, but my response was โThis in only fictionโ. Then I purchased and read The Harbinger Fact or Fiction? I am thankful that David James wrote this book and pointed out the problem areas. There was a real need for this book.

a book well worth reading

If you look at the Harbinger by itself you might think the book is right on, and in a sence it is, but.............
Rabbi Jonathan Cahn's book, The "Harbinger", takes Isaiah 9:10, and many other verses from other books of the Bible and applies them directly to America. The best selling author of the Harbinger: I fear Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, has us reading other peoples mail and thinking it can now only be applied to America. Isaiah 9:10 and other verses do apply to Americans in the same way all of the bible verses and principles apply to people anywhere, not just America. I remember years ago that some were saying that president Kennedy was the antichrist and these proponents came up with everything in the world that the two had in common making their point and as proof. Then there was the Pope and so many others. This could be very compelling as long as you looked no deeper than the once place you started from. This is how conspiracy theories commonly take hold of many who grasp hold of a part of something without doing their own research by looking deeper. David James in his book "The Harbinger, fact or Fiction" does a very good job of looking deeper and noting those things that makes me think the Harbinger is taking hold of passages written to others, the Jews /Israel at a point in time, and applying it to themselves/ourselves at this time. If the Harbinger is assigning passages to those it does not totally belong to, it is the same thing as replacement theology to one degree or another and I personally advise readers tread lightly before they state this absolute truth and is exactly what is happening point by point. There is more to it. I believe Isaiah 9:10 applies (is directed) to all nations everywhere, not just America, and the passages apply equally to individuals everywhere, not as a member of the whole but as individuals. dave conspriisy

It is somewhat helpful in evaluating The Harbinger
It has some good evaluation that is based on fact checking. Unfortunately, it seems to me that Mr James wrote with a negative bias in the first place, ignoring the Harbinger' primary theme and purpose. Mr James even titles his book incorrectly: ...FACT OF FICTION. The author of THE HARBINGER indicates clearly that his is a work of fiction. The HARBINGER shows some critical parallels between what happened in his chosen scriptural events and what has and is happening in modern America. A thoughtful reader has the total freedom to deny those similarities or evaluate the warning that he wants America see and to repent before this nation suffers punishments that God warns of for people and nations who deny His legitimate kingship. Throughout scripture, God pleads for humankind to repent and return to Him in repentance and obedience.

BEFORE you recommend The Harbinger...
My heartfelt appreciation to David James for providing a biblically sound and Christ-like examination of Cahn's book! As James reminds us, the book written by Cahn is a work of fiction no matter how enticing it might be to make it mean something more. The most troubling thing I found about The Harbinger is that from beginning to end he was raising red flags, but I found myself willing to overlook them because it was such an interesting theory about America's moral failings. If you insist on reading Cahn's book anyway, make sure you open your Bible and read the entire passages for yourself and not just the carefully edited excerpts. David James thank you for being Christ-like as well as courageous in laying bare mysticism from biblical truth.

Not perfect, but necessary
The Harbinger: Fact or Fiction? is a careful, well constructed response to The Harbinger . Everything the original lacks, the response carries off flawlessly. There are several places where I personally do not agree with David James, but then, those disagreements are minor compared to the flaws of the original. I don't know if David James book can undo the massive damage done by the widely read Jonathan Cahn. Cahn's book caters to the deepest, most dangerous theological flaws resonating through the modern church. It reinforces heresy, encourages delusional thinking, and inspires people to ignore reality in favor of an imaginary and fantastical "higher truth". While not perfect, The Harbinger: Fact or Fiction? is a solid, well-grounded refutation of Cahn's most egregious errors.

Every topic in this book was very well explained and ...
Every topic in this book was very well explained and well researched. But I found some of the topics lacking. David James could have taken the time to thoroughly explain the differences between the sycamore trees. I wish he had. He also should have shown the etymology of the word gazith. Overall the book was well written.

David James Having a Hard Time Knowing True Christians!
David James doesn't know what he is talking about! I don't think he would know Jesus when he comes back! James said some great people were false prophets. I think he is wrong. The Harbinger is a great book written in poetic blank verse conversation that is interesting and mystifying; yet the Truth is revealed in historic facts. The writer tells us to watch and wait. We as Christians are watching and waiting for the return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ . We should be telling others about the Good News of Christ!

Fantastically researched and presented
Thank you so much for opening our minds to the fraudulent content of The Harbinger. When I bought that book I was extremely interested in your book and thought I should check it out. I'm so glad that I did because my eyes were opened to the truth.

Good book, but oh the service from Amazon...
The book appears to be a fair treatment of the subject ('The Harbinger', by Jonathan Cahn), but the book, a paperback, was sent in too large a cardbox box which wouldn't fit through our letterbox and so was left on our doorstep in the rain, getting wet in the process. So: five stars for the book, but only one star for the delivery - hence three stars overall. Amazon must do better.
