Razor sharp out of the box and the sheath is actually pretty good it has two pockets that can fit altoid in each one. Also the sheath has a plastic molded liner that fits the knife perfectly. Iā€™m really happy with this blade. It chops everything really well ### ā­ā­ā­ā­ā­ Basically perfect *by A***R on December 1, 2022* This is a great machete. I've had it for 7 years now, taken it with on various hikes and lived in three states with dramatically different environments. I've used it to clear trails while hiking and currently use it to clear my property of overgrowth. Through all that I've only sharpened it maybe 4 times and I'm careful not to hit rocks but I have had a couple dings but no chips. If you take care of it it will last longer than you will for sure. Only gripe is it could be longer but really they make a longer one so I just bought the wrong one. Really though the length is fine and works grwt in close quarters. Would recommend and buy over and over again.
