Guava Paste (Pasta de Guayaba), 14 oz

I had never really thought about keeping guava paste around the house, but after trying this I can definitely see myself buying it again. The guava flavor is really noticeable and fruity, and it has a nice sweetness without just tasting like plain sugar.The texture is very thick and firm, which makes it easy to slice into whatever size pieces I want. My favorite way to eat it has been with cheese. The combination of the sweet guava with a salty or creamy cheese is really good, and just a few slices make an easy little snack. I've also tried it on crackers, which worked really well.There is quite a bit in the 14-ounce package because you don't need a huge amount at one time. I can also see this being really useful for baking or cutting into smaller pieces to add to pastries and desserts.I like that the ingredient list is relatively straightforward and that it is something I can use in several different ways instead of buying it for one specific recipe. It is definitely sweet, which is what I expected from guava paste, but the actual fruit flavor comes through nicely.This was a fun one to try and ended up being much more versatile than I expected. If you already like guava, especially paired with cheese, this is an easy recommendation.

I use this to make Guava Danish since you cannot but them at any bakery in Washington. When I visit my Mom in Florida Guava Danish are my first purchase, now I have them at home. This is good stuff and great flavor at an affordable price.

This is an old childhood dessert. I buy at the store, and had it shipped to my son whle on vacation. We eat it with white Mexican Cheese, Queso Fresco, goes so well. Or maybe Brie cheese or cream cheese. Sweet and fruity. To slice it the best will have to be at room temperature.

I'm a big fan of Iberia guava paste going back to when I lived in Miami. It's one of the major brands of Hispanic foods you find in all of the local markets there, and it's a brand known for quality at a good price. This is no exception.In the rural area where I live now the only Hispanic food that's readily available is Mexican. That means many of the delicious foods I grew up with in South Florida aren't available here. Guava paste and guava jelly are just a couple of the tastes that I miss. When I found out that I could get guava paste delivered to my door I immediately ordered 2. I wasn't disappointed! Iberia guava paste is good value for money. Delicious!
