I get the CR123 Lithium batteries at 2.9v in abundance and wanted a light to utilize two of those batteries in series in a light not expecting more than the normal output and these lights worked just as a plus on a side note. The 18650's work great in them as well thanks to the adapter that comes with them and the three AAA batt's also work just fine so overall a good set of lights, pretty rugged and good to go.
