Great quality metal construction. Both the phone app and hardware were easy to install, and came up immediately, with no fuss. I used it immediately to look up potential arcing in outlets. (didn't find any) Next i used it to look for thermal leaks around doors. I have hot water heating and used it to follow the copper lines in the walls and under concrete. It's a great tool, and i come up with new uses almost daily.

I have been an electrician for more than 47 years. This is a great product to determine whether there is potential fault/problem. I was able to determine, that there is a bad circuit breaker in a panel, under load. A 20-amp circuit was drawing 0.3 amps, and it created a hot spot. This should be in EVERY electricians diagnostic kit. Whether it is for I phone or Android, this is a must have.

I love this little thing! works great and so easy to use! I originally bought it to help locate a hot water leak under my slab foundation, and found it with ease. also had some fun just looking at things around the house with it like the rest of the hoot water pipes and had a little fun recording the cats too lol

This thing works great, excellent tool for a controls tech. Find duct leakage, troubleshoot overheating components on a board, check discharge temps and sometimes even diffuser throw. It's decently fast once it initially loads and it's range is pretty good too so long as you get the emissivity setting correct. App automatically opens when you connect the device which is cool too. That said, the adapter sucks. It has to be plugged in just right and if you bump it wrong, the camera disconnects. Which takes a good 30 seconds to reconnect after that happens. I read reviews saying it doesn't work with a case which may have been true with a previous design, but I have a fairly heavy duty case and it works fine. The second downside is that the plastic carrying case is not super solid. I wouldn't trust it on my keys, I keep it on an interior zipper in my backpack. Altogether, I would say if you frequently use an infrared thermometer, you would probably benefit from this. Reliable, accurate, and cheaper than options with built in cameras.

Wanted to return this but lost the original packaging so I'm stuck with it. It did not come with the extra extension. I can see it in the product picture, never arrived with the product. It does give 2 color variation screens but locks up. Checked temps against another meter and not even close. Sorry but I am truly disappointed although I do hold Klein tools in high regard.

Or hottest. I've found some novel uses with ad well as entertained the kids. Can check electrical cables for overheating. Can maybe check the insulation in your walls. Can see your heat prints after touching things. Can see what's hot or not. Can see where certain muscle injuries are by the increase in temp.

This is great for studying structural heat loss and evaluating hydronic system performance. Also good for finding things in walls that should not be generating heat. Nice for evaluating output of air conditioner. The temperature reading is off. Not important to me because there are other tools for that. As a Flir it works fantastic.

Used on Samsung Galaxy S24- USB-C Worked quite well for the first 2 uses- handy for finding a thermostat blockage on a truck cooling system. Went to use and plug in after hanging on my (closed and locked when not there) toolbox pegboard for 2 months and it won't register anything is plugged in- checked my phone port with other cables and with data, used a friend's phone- no joy- I believe the USB-C connector is too fragile.

The camera works okay so far. The case is irritatingly cheap and falls open all the time. The camera can then fall out and get scratched. Klein is just addicted to making garbage I guess.
