I have a large German Shepherd, does it work for large dogs?

I have a 30 pound, 13.6 Kilos, Australian Sheppard Poodle who was a barker. Cars, people, sounds, even when friendly visitors leave the group. This device is very humane and works. You need to use it in conjunction with that samebommand like "no", "stop", so your dog understands and eventually associates the sound with the command. Now as soon as my dog sees the device in my hand after I give him the command "no" he will stop and look at me. That is when I give him a positive praise "good boy". If he is on a leash I also can give him a tug. If off leash and I have the device it works well if he is close enough. I like and recommend it.

Does the device emit a beep when the ultrasonic button is pressed? I do not want anyone to know when I am using it.

There are 2 buttons for shorter and longer distances, only the person holding the device can hear the long distance beep but it's very faint to a human's ear, both buttons do make a vibrating sound. However, the device does flash a light so you can see when it's activated. Short distance lights up around the button and long distance activates the flashlight like a strobe effect.

What is the maximum range of the Ultrasonic Dog Trainer?

The range is at least 25 feet. It is typically effective at greater range. Make sure there are no walls or other obstacles between the dog and the trainer.

Does it work for whinning?

It works for barking I don't know why it wouldn't work for whining. What I found is it gets there attention and they stop doing whatever they do.
