It has a small fan located at the back that makes as much noise as a typical desktop PC. I'm not sure about the BG1202S; but I'll bet that model has a fan as well. Also, you must wait for the fan to finish cooling the burners before you cut the power; the fan will shut off automatically after a few minutes, then you can turn off the power switch. If you cut the power before the fan finishes its cycle, it may reduce the life of your electric cooktop.
