I was a little hesitant spending as much money on a "storage container", if you know what I mean. But the investment is well worth it if you are looking for a container to hold items you care about. In my case, I keep the container in the back of my truck bed to hold various items when going about my everyday activity, whether for work or play. The containers are solid, hold more than you would think and keep your belongings dry if outside in the rain or snow when inside the container. The latch to close seems solid, I am very rough on stuff, I work in construction and often have tools rolling about the bed of truck, I intend on buying two more of these, one to hold emergency supplies and the other for camping supplies this summer. The money spent on these is reasonable, one of these is equal to 10 of the average plastic containers with the cheap lids that never fit right. I highly recommend these for a variety of uses. On long road trips, I will tie it down with a bungee cord to hold it in place better. It is also very solid and makes a good makeshift seat when outside. The 35 gallon sized one is a bit large to have to carry around on a daily basis, I also bought the 8 gallon sized container which works for items that you need to carry around often. In fact I bought two of those. I am done buying the cheap average storage containers no matter how inexpensive, these are far superior in quality and I hope they last a lifetime if taken care of. I have started to use these containers for storing my "emergency supplies" and as a way to store anything I would need if I had to leave my house in a hurry. My town has been hit twice by tornadoes which left my area without power for almost a week. It was nice having all my most needed supplies and belongings stored in one container which allowed me to grab it and go within a short period of time. You never know what the future holds and having these sturdy containers on hand helps in any emergencies.

I can't compliment these containers enough. I put mine outside year-round, beside a pool (chemicals) and they have held up for 3+ years now. I recently bought more to store firewood, to prevent it from getting wet. These are rainproof and snowproof. One can lock the container with a padlock; however, I don't need to do this but if you camp, it might be useful for you. These are durable, thick, and tough. I do not pick up and drop mine on the ground much. I place it in one place and just throw a bunch of stuff into it and it works great. There are different sizes. As for vertical stacking, I don't think that would work well since the tops are not conducive to keeping the container on top from shifting if jostled and will fall. The good thing, it doesn't collect water on top of the container (sitting as puddle), so if you have a pet (e.g., dog) who might lap up the water after a rain, this works to prevent that. Overall, a fantastic product. No regrets. Do I wish they were a bit more affordable, yes, but if you get a great product, then the value is there. You'll be able to use these for years. My family has been using Action Packers for around 30 years now. My parents still use the original ones they bought in the 90’s around twice a month. I still have one of those originals they bought that gets regular use. I bought this one because it was the perfect size for my trailer hitch carrier. We load these in the back of trucks, trailers, etc and have never had an issue. They’ve faced many rainy camping days and have never let in so much as a drop of water. Same goes for rainy drives where it is secured outside the car. Never any issues. The box is super durable. You can ratchet strap them down pretty securely without hurting the box at all.

I live in Florida, where the sun bleaches color from everything, destroys canvas and poly tarps, and has turned more than one cooler into brittle, broken plastic. I will know within a year or so how this box holds up. Initial impression: it's sturdy, and it keeps the water out. K know it keeps the water out because I hit it hard from all angles with a high-pressure hose. This is important, because I use this to store fertilizers, and moisture would absolutely ruin them. The inside is roomy. This is essentially a cooler without any insulation. And given what I use the box for, insulation is absolutely NOT needed. There is, however, a major design flaw in the box. It's so bad I wish I hadn't cut up the box for recycling, because I likely would have returned it. And coming from a company as old and well-established as Rubbermaid, it's inexcusable. It's the "handles. More accurately, it's the LACK of functional handles. It's impossible to tell from the pictures (and I doubt that was just an oversight), but instead of handles, there are indentations on each end of the box. And those indentations are shallow. How shallow? When I slip my fingers into them to lift the box, I can't even get them halfway to the first joint before bottoming out. Do you have short fingernails (like most men)? The depth of the indentations is just tad shallower than the distance from the top of my fingernails to their base. About 1/2 inch. This makes the box very difficult to lift when it's empty, and virtually impossible with any weight in it. Dumb. Very dumb. I am going to get a small dolly like this one to put under it.
