Can this record upto 8hrs?

Probably not. It fell apart 2nd time I turned it on

If it's a new SD card do you need to format it first

I will never get anoter of these pens again, you try to Record and it just takes a pic, hold the button on the top for 2 sec the little light flash but it dose not record for more then a sec, don't wast your money, expensive pen for £28.99

Where is the memory card inserted?

The pen unscrews, and the bottom half comes off so you can insert the card.

Can it be connected to iPad as I don’t have a device with a usb connection
