Delicious sand easy sauce packets
Asian Home Gourmet has a lot of delicious packets but beef rendang is my consistent favorite. It is so easy to make and flavors are so good. Goes really well with fresh cooked jasmine rice. Butter chicken is also super good.

Would prefer more curry flavor
I've used curry powder, but think it leaves a slight bitter taste. This red paste (hot) did lack the bitter taste. I gradually added it until the heat was right, but it needed more curry flavor. I'll try a yellow paste (mild) and see if that helps, but I imagine I'll need to add heat to it.

Very nice flavor and you can stretch it
I really like the Prima Taste Rendang Curry Sauce Kit. This was a test of a competing brand. Although there is a definite difference in taste, they are both equally exotic for your taste buds. The Prima Taste has a distinctive lemongrass taste. The Asian Home has a distinctive medium hot chili taste. I added vegetables to both and served over rice from my rice cooker. Just as you might like 2 distinct fried chickens -say Popeye's cajun and KFC's herbs and spices- both of these Rendangs were very satisfying. If you only cook the Asian Home with your meat, you are definitely going to experience heat and a stronger spice taste. Here's my recipe that created 8 platefuls and reduced the chili heat: I added the Asian Home to a can of coconut milk and heated it in a covered non-stick Dutch oven. I added a lb. of thinly sliced round steak and simmered it 10 mins. I gently covered that with thin slices of a full broccoli stem and flowerette. After 10 min. I added thin celery slices, a standard can of straw mushrooms sliced and a standard can of bamboo shoots cubed small. (You can add carrot toothpick slices or red bell pepper for color.) Cook 10 minutes. By keeping the cover on you will have some sauce on everything. Serve over rice for an all-in-one meal. Salt if you desire (I thought it brought out the flavor.) This is much more economical than the Prima Taste. You can achieve the lemongrass taste by adding some lemon juice. If you are used to a little sweetness, sprinkle a little sugar on top.

Definitey not Rendang
This is certainly a Rendang paste. It is a plain curry.
