LE PAON Embroidery Floss Metallic Thread (Gold and Silver Series)

Love these colors, always a bit difficult to work with but it's expected.

I really love this floss. Buying it in bulk saved me a ton of money since I needed so much of it for my projects. A lot of other reviews complain that it frays, but it is supposed to! It allows you to use different thicknesses of thread. I was really happy that I was able to thin it out without tangling it in order to achieve different line weights/thickness for my projects. I would recommend taping the end and using wide-eyed embroidery needle if you aren't going to thin it out. I had a bit of frustration with it catching on my fabric and the silver stuff tearing off, but I found that if I used shorter strands and was more gentle when separating the pieces that it really didn't shred at all. It is very sparkly and has a bright color!

I got this for a project, it is beautiful and do I like it and will be ordering more and other colours. But it is harder to work with. If you are new to embroidery just take into account that it isn't as smooth as normal cotton thread, and it unraves super easy. But it wouldn't be something that would be impossible for newcomers to use as long as they are patient.

So, I bought this because I was excited to get an assortment of metallic floss for a good price. However, I’m very disappointed & should have just bought my usual DMC floss. Not only does this only have 5 strands instead of 6, it shreds very easily & comes apart right away. It separates as soon as it comes out of the wrapper & is hard to get through the needle & use. Don’t be suckered in…you’ll be sorry. Spring for the good stuff!!!

Pretty colors! Just what I was looking for. The colors will elevate my cross-stich pattern.

This product is perfect for adding a little sparkle to any project. Texture is quite like Christmas tinsel. Remember that it won't embroider like cotton thread. Best to put on a spool in advance if use. Keep strands shorter than you'd normally use, to avoid tangling and breaking. Knots are very easy to undo. It will catch on cotton threads, which also can be avoided with shorter strands.

Yes, metallic thread is difficult with which to sew. Worth it for the right project. I used it for hand sewing. COLORS are beautiful. Do recommend.
