From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of Aladdin. She's his diamond in the rough. He's her worst nightmare. Yasmin Karam, daughter to one of the richest men in the world, has never known strife. So, when her beloved father falls ill, she's determined to make his final days his happiest. His last wish? To see her married to a man of his choosing. Except Yasmin's heart already belongs to someone else. A servant. A street rat. A man her father would never consider worthy. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, Yasmin strikes a desperate deal with her father's right-hand man, Julian, not realizing he has his own twisted agenda. Julian Faraci has one goal: become the most powerful man in the world. He's built a future from broken bones and faded bruises, never caring who he hurt along the way. But when his mentor falls ill, he finds himself on the verge of losing everything, and he'll stop at nothing to inherit what is rightfully his. Even if it means forcing a woman he can't stand into marriage. Yasmin is a brat who speaks out of turn, and he's the villain of her story. But he decides she'll be his--no matter what it takes to convince her. Review: Gripped right from the start! - Well it’s safe to say I absolutely loved this book! Not like that was even in doubt as the whole Never After Series is amazing!! However Julian completely melted my heart. Right from the very first page you got to see how troubled he was which just makes him even more easier to understand and relate to from the very beginning. I loved watching both Julian and Yasmin’s character growth as well as seeing their relationship bloom. Granted I did not see the twists and betrayals coming - I suspected one but not all of them! I feel it was such a perfect way to end the book and am excited to read the extended epilogue available at the end. Review: Enemies to lovers dark romance - A delightful reimagining of Aladdin. This dark romance follows the forced relationship of Yasmin and Julian, complications from her boyfriend Aidan, a search for a mystery lamp, struggles against unwanted suitors for Yasmins hand in marriage at her father's command, and twists and turns. An enemies to lovers dark romance.

Great spice
I enjoyed the writing style and the spice is on point but I didn't call in love Julian he was just too horrible and I didn't believe the switch when the romance started. The FMC acts very strange and I couldn't relate but putting that aside it was well written just not in the same league as Hooked, Hexed or Scarred

Dark, atmospheric & seductive
A dark retelling of Aladdin & like in all books of this series, is not what you think, but has some delightful nods to the original story. In this book you follow Yasmin who is the privileged daughter of the owner of a diamond empire, he wants her to marry a man of his choosing to help progress the company forward, however she's in love with Aiden a servant, who her father does not approve of! As he dad is on his deathbed, she makes a desperate deal with her fathers 'right-hand man' Julian & they enter into a fake / forced marriage. However, Julian has other motivations to gain power & take over the family business. This book is a brilliant example of an enemies-to-lovers & slow-burn tropes that will have you rolling your eyes, kicking your legs & shouting at the characters, with all the sexual chemistry fizzing off the page as the tension builds & builds, that you know that at some point it's just going to go BOOM!. I'm a sucker for a pet cameo, so was glad Abu & Rajah from the original story where not lost, even if not in their original form! & we got a new edition in Julian's pet snake! The writing style is very smooth & seductive, which fits the story perfectly, with sharp dialogue & quirky one-liners that will keep your interest & keeps the book flowing at a mid to fast pace. As always you have to spy as many easter eggs / references to the original story & these are some of my favourites.... * Genie the name of the lead archaeologist - Love it when a key object is reused in a different way. * The high security vault - a nod to the Caves of Wonders * The Sultan - is the name of the diamond empire that Yasmine's father owns. Overall, this is a fab addition to the series, but wretched still remains my favourite.

Spicy Aladdin retelling
Every ounce of feminism left my body whilst reading Twisted. Can’t believe I’m saying this but Julian Faraci is now my favourite Never After man, James sweetie I am so sorry 🥹 Yasmin is a jewellery heiress and daughter of Ali Karam who is close to death following a cancer diagnosis. He wants to find a suitable husband for her before he passes to ensure his jewellery empire Sultans and daughter are protected. Julian is his right hand man and will stop at nothing to claim Sultans for himself. He devises a plan which involves forcing Yasmin to marry him in order to take what he believes is rightfully his. Yasmin however is in love with her childhood best friend Aidan but knows her father would never accept him and so she goes along with Julian’s plan to ensure her father is happy. From there we see intentions and trust shift from various characters… I didn’t really see Julian as a villain and I genuinely mean that as a compliment and not a criticism. He was a very misunderstood character with a traumatic past. And yes the same could be said about the other guys in this series but I didn’t even think Julian was that unhinged either. So he killed a few people to get them away from marrying Yasmin. You would do it too for an inheritance that doesn’t belong to you 🤭😂 ok jokes aside I just think he was kinda cuteee. Also he seemed the most ‘human’ out of the villains, whenever he felt guilt in his inner monologues I just saw this whole other side to him which I hadn’t seen in our previous villains until the end of their stories. Yasmin was a character I could definitely relate to, being an ethnic minority I too feel that I have to please my parents all the time and try not to step out of line to ensure their happiness comes first. She was not spoilt in my opinion, she didn’t choose her upbringing 🤷🏽♀️Also loved her bratty attitude towards Julian and his reactions to it, they balanced each other out very well. Every time Julian asked Yasmin ‘Are you mine?’ I hoped she’d say no so I could have him to myself and then I’d remember they’re not real 🥹

Julian is everything
The story was a bit meh in places to be honest, trying to fit in as many Aladdin references as possible was sometimes detrimental to the overall story. But Julian was the thing that kept me turning the pages when I thought maybe I didn't want to. That man makes it worth reading.

disappointed..
I’ve read the first 4 books in this series. I just couldn’t get in to this one. I don’t know what it was. I’m disappointed because jafar and jasmine has always been my guilty pleasure! (No judgments here 😂) I liked maybe 60% of the book then towards the end I skipped over and skim read quite a lot. Even doing this didn’t take away from the story, so it felt like filler in a way. I liked Julian, but I wasn’t hot for him. I liked Yasmin, but she felt a little dense, and the ending made no sense to me! Like why would she do that when she doesn’t have any violence in her nature? Sempt bizzare to me. Defo bottom of the list in the series!

Sehr gutes Buch

A great read! Julian us wondeful!
What a fantastic read, I loved the dynamic between the two main characters and the overall storyline was done so well. I love a good enemies to lovers, add in an age gap and forced marriage-so so good! I’m such a sucker for the villain who has a soft spot only for her, and this was exactly how Julian was with Yasmin! Julian had such wonderful character growth, and man is he an easy morally grey character to fall for! I loved the small moments when Julian becomes vulnerable and lets Yasmin in. Yas was really good! The sass she gave Julian was perfection, she really loved to push his buttons. I enjoyed how she really came into her own, stepped out of her comfort zone, and was so much more than people saw her as or gave her credit for. The attraction they have for one another is so high, but they both hate it and all the feelings. It was fantastic watching them struggle internally with those types of emotions. This was definitely a slow burn, but worth every moment of the journey! This is such a wonderful series with a unique take and always a great read! I can’t wait for book 5. 4.5 ⭐️

Maravilhoso!
Simplesmente esperei ser só um romance com o malvadão...mas foi tão gostoso de ler e ver como a personagem evolui que terminei o livro em 3 dias.
