Gotta admit I was a little skeptical at first. This starter runs from $120 to $200 at the online boat supply stores so when I saw this one for $60 I wasn't sure if was going to be any good. Looks well made and it bolted right up with no problems. Starts the engine very easy. Fast shipping too.

I bought this starter for my 1983 johnson sea hoarse 25hp, I was very skeptical due to the price. This starter is working great and from the weight and looks it seems to be just as durable as the factory BOSH starter. I am a certified H.D. tech and once again was nervous that it might be light weight and just disappointing but it was not. Be careful on the install that you don't let it separate when removing the shipping nuts if required for install and you should not have any problems, THIS STARTER WAS A BARGAIN !!

warehouse purchase
arrived loose (partially disassembled). had to make a tool to hold the spring brushes in place to reassemble. was a pain. also one brush was slightly damaged but still functional The good news is that it worked. bottom line for 80-90 % price off name brand and oem staters this was a bargain from the amazon warehouse

Solved my starter problem on outboard motor

decent quality, fast shipping totally wrong size very dissapointed is 3inchces to short for bracket sending it back it woud be nice if the gave dimension specs so people can get an idea if it fits or not.

Mechanism seized extended ended up stripping out mounting screws! Now I’m left with a broken motor and the starter won’t be able to be returned? This is only the fifth time I’ve used it!
