Bought these for my preteen son, and they were a huge hit! He and his friend used them all weekend and caught lots of fish. The rods worked great right out of the box, and we loved that the kit came with so many extras. They actually used a variety of the included tackle instead of us having to buy additional gear. Best of all, we had very few tangles or frustrations, which made the experience much more enjoyable for beginner anglers. The boys spent more time fishing and less time dealing with knots. Overall pretty cool for a first rod and reel

Fishing poles are great! Easy to assemble and compact for traveling. Only problem we've had is that the zipper on the bag broke the first time we used it.

Good for beginners

Price was ok. Rod is quality level expected. Reel was much lower quality level, not very robust considering it is intended for use by children. Worked ok the only time it's been used by grandsons age 6, but would not recommend.
