Review: Gets the job done - Mama Bear Diaper Pail Refills Review As a busy parent, finding a reliable and cost-effective solution for diaper disposal is essential. The Mama Bear Diaper Pail Refills for Diaper Genie pails have proven to be a valuable addition to our household. Here’s my take on these refills based on their performance and value. Pros: 1. Effective Odor Control: The Mama Bear refills have multi-layer film technology that effectively traps odors. Even when the pail is nearly full, there's minimal smell leakage, which is crucial for maintaining a fresh-smelling home. 2. Compatibility: These refills fit perfectly with Diaper Genie pails, ensuring a snug fit and easy installation. It’s great not having to worry about finding the right size. 3. Cost-Effective: Compared to branded alternatives, the Mama Bear refills offer excellent value for money. You get a high quantity for a lower price without compromising quality. 4. Durability: The bags are sturdy and can handle a considerable number of diapers without tearing. This durability means fewer changes and more convenience. Cons: 1. Unscented Option: While effective, these refills are unscented. Some parents might prefer a lightly scented option to add an extra layer of freshness. 2. Bulk Packaging:Although getting more refills in a pack is economical, the bulk packaging might be excessive for smaller households or those with limited storage space. Overall Experience: The Mama Bear Diaper Pail Refills have made diaper disposal a hassle-free task. Their odor control and compatibility with Diaper Genie pails make them a reliable choice. The cost savings are a significant advantage, especially for families on a budget. Despite the unscented nature, the refills perform exceptionally well in keeping the nursery odor-free. In conclusion, if you're looking for an affordable and efficient diaper pail refill, the Mama Bear refills are a strong contender. They offer excellent performance and value, making diaper duty a little less daunting. Review: Exactly the same as brand name. Great product. Great price. - I have the Playtex Diaper Genie Elite for our diaper pail system in the nursery. Introduction: I normally use Playtex diaper genie refill bags or the Up&Up refills but the Mama Bear Refill bags were a great price so I thought I’d try them. They are just as good, if not better (because of the price) than the brand name Playtex bag refills. Fit and Setup: The Mama Bear refills work exactly like the Playtex ones. You remove the plastic ring on the top of the product and then find the end of the bag and pull it upward and then through the ring and tie the bottom of bag (see photos of unopened ring and side by side top of Mama Bear/Playtex). I literally found no difference in setting up the Mama Bear ring and the Playtex. I also found that the ring fit exactly the same as the Playtex (see photo of Mama Bear ring inside the Diaper Genie). *Both Mama Bear and Playtex were equally matched on fit and setup. Quality: Both Mama Bear and Playtex have 7 layers of protection and fit up to 270 diapers in each refill ring. The feel and sturdiness of both Mama Bear and Playtex are the same. The tough/feel/sight/smell of the two products are to my eyes and fingers EXACTLY the same (see photo of opened products in my fingers). I haven’t seen any difference the Mama Bear and Playtex in being able to hold a full allot of diapers (no rips or strain). *Both Mama Bear and Playtex are the same quality. Packaging: Both Mama Bear and Playtex look exactly the same - same color, same markings, same shape, size, seemingly the same weight. If you were to remove the side label on the Mama Bear and Playtex refills I would not have the ability to know which was which (see the photo comparisons). *Both Mama Bear and Playtex have the same package and product (only difference is the label on the outside). Note: I did not compare the Up&Up (Target) version of diaper pail refills, but those are seemingly subpar to both Mama Bear and Playtex. The Up&Up are flimsier, and the ring on the outside isn’t as sturdy. I would not recommend them given the fact that Mama Bear is a superior product and the same price. Overall: I found Mama Bear and Playtex diaper pail refills to be almost exactly the same so if the Mama Bear brand is less expensive I will absolutely continue to buy them. I love that desertcart has gotten in on the “Generic” or rather “Store Brand” alternatives allowing for a more affordable product with the same quality. ***please let me know if my review was helpful by clickling the “helpful” button below*** ## Features - SHIPMENT CONTAINS: 1080 diaper pail refills for Diaper Genie Pails (4 packs of 270 count refills) with multi-layer film technology - COMPATIBLE WITH DIAPER GENIE: For use with Diaper Genie Disposal Systems including Expressions, Elite, and Complete Pails - HIGH CAPACITY: Each refill holds up to 270 newborn diapers, providing long-lasting convenience for busy parents - ODOR CONTROL: Seven layers of film work together to effectively trap and contain diaper odors inside your pain - NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MUNCHKIN: These refills are designed specifically for Diaper Genie pails and not for use with Munchkin systems - PREVIOUSLY MAMA BEAR: Previously Mama Bear, now desertcart Basics. They work perfectly with our Diaper Genie and provide excellent odor control at a fraction of the cost of name-brand refills. The unscented option is ideal since we don't want artificial fragrances around baby. The 1080 count with 4 packs lasts us months, making this an incredible value. Each refill holds just as many diapers as the expensive alternatives while maintaining the same level of smell containment. The plastic quality is sturdy - no tearing or weak spots that cause frustrating jams. Installation is exactly the same as original refills - fits perfectly and feeds through the system smoothly. The cutting mechanism works flawlessly every time. No difference in performance whatsoever, just significant savings on our monthly diaper budget. What impressed me most is how well these contain odors, even with particularly smelly diapers. The multi-layer barrier really works to lock in unpleasant smells until trash day. Our nursery stays fresh and comfortable. Amazon's Mama Bear brand delivers quality that matches premium options at a much better price point. Smart parents will make the switch and save serious money without sacrificing performance. Highly recommend for any Diaper Genie owner looking to cut costs! ## Frequently Bought Together - Amazon Brand - Mama Bear Diaper Pail Refills for Diaper Genie Pails, Unscented, 1080 Count (4 Packs of 270 Count) - WaterWipes Plastic-Free Original Baby Wipes, 99.9% Water Based Wipes, Unscented & Hypoallergenic for Sensitive Skin, 60 Count (Pack of 12), Packaging May Vary - Desitin Maximum Strength Baby Diaper Rash Cream, 40% Zinc Oxide for Treatment, Relief & Prevention, Hypoallergenic, Phthalate- & Paraben-Free Paste, Protects Skin for 12 Hours, 4.8 oz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.dk/products/45683217-amazon-basics-diaper-pail-refills-for-diaper-genie-pails-unscented](https://www.desertcart.dk/products/45683217-amazon-basics-diaper-pail-refills-for-diaper-genie-pails-unscented) --- *Product available on Desertcart Denmark* *Store origin: DK* *Last updated: 2026-10-10*
